I don't necessarily see Dak being any better than Romo but the O-line is in better shape. That 07 line wasn't exactly a line full of spring chickens. They began declining the following year. I don't see this line declining any time soon.
Compare Romo 2007 and Romo 2014 on a scale 1-10 (best).

I think Dak is better. His rookie season was as good as Romo's best ever. We don't even know his ceiling yet. But a team this good is better off with a QB who makes very few mistakes then a gunslinger.

I love Romo but this kid is better for this team. I will say if the team had less talent, Romo would probably win you more games.

EDIT: Actually Romo 2014 was better than Dak 2016. Although QBR doesn't take rushing into account.

So Romo is better without better talent surrounding him? That makes absolutely no sense.

Still best season by a rookie QB probably ever. And possibly best playoff game for a rookie QB too.

Well, at least we weren't the only home team to lose at home today. I guess that's the only positive.

Of course 2014 Romo is Better. Not sure what you're getting at. If you're say Dak is as good as 2014 Romo, then I gotta disagree. This team is better than 2014's team.

Think of it this way. Aikman was shit once he wasn't cloaked in a shield of All Pros. Romo has kept this team competitive for a decade with only one year of having really superior talent.

That being said, you put Romo in the 90s teams and he might put up gaudy numbers but he would also throw the ball up for grabs and lose at Candlestick. It's just the nature of having a gunslinger.

How much better is 2014 Romo than 2007 Romo?

It's all a moot point if he doesn't improve next year which I think he will. I highly doubt he will be like RGIII.

But we still need to see it. If he can help prevent the usual letdown of this team after successful seasons, I'll be sold. Of course Zeke will be here to help with that as well.

Just as likely he is Big Ben. The only guy with a somewhat comparable rookie season.

You know, one thing I will say is this season far exceeded all of our expectations. When Romo went down I think we were all expecting a losing season. So all in all, it was a great season. Disappointing no question. However, we have a young team loaded with talent. The future is bright. Got to focus on that. Brady and Rodgers can't keep going forever. Dak's time is coming.

Losing 3 straight NFC championship games?

"Better"
How could that even be a question?

Losing in the divisional round is clearly worse.

Putting it in quotes doesn't change reality.

3 is "more than" 0.

See? still true.

I agree with you about needing to run the ball more in the red zone. That was mystifying. Still, I can't agree that it's on the offense as much as the defense. The defense let them score 21 on their first three drives. They allowed a 35 yard pass on 3 and 20. It's just a killer...
And we scored 3 whole points in that same stretch to start the game. Just can't do that.

We've had one of those since 2006.
Yea and if Parcells had stayed 2 more years we probably make a Super Bowl. Instead we got Wade and the talent level slowly deteriorated from 2008 until about 2011, the core Prescott has around him right now is far better than what Romo had.

The only thing Romo had was a much better defense, but even those units weren't dominant and I think we're about 2-3 players away from having a defense that is just as good, and one of those may already be on the roster in Smith.

Dak is different then Romo and this team is built better for the long haul then that team was. I love how Dak being a rookie is why you didn't want him to play. But now that he won't be a rookie the arrow somehow isn't pointing up?
I love how you say Dak is different than Romo yet somehow the result isn't any better.
