It's easier for a WR to flash ability than a CB, especially in our pass-happy offense. One particular play that gave me alot of hope with Claiborne was a play late in the Atlanta game where I think he was covering Julio Jones on what I believe was their game-winning drive. He was in perfect position for the INT on a deep ball, Julio had to become the DB and honestly should have been called for offensive PI but he wasn't.

If Claiborne doesn't produce at least like 3 or 4 picks this year then I agree with what people are saying right now about his ceiling but I want to at least see what happens in his second year before it has even begun.

That may be true, but even Terence Newman had a nice pick against the Giants in his 2nd game and had a 3 pick game later that season. I would've been thrilled if Claiborne had anything like that.

That's fair, but I am concerned.

I'd hate for us to get only a "solid" corner with the 6th pick in the draft.

Carr also didn't cost a first and a second to draft.

If that's as good as he gets, it is a bad pick. For what we spent, we should have a top five CB. He should be a Bailey, Revis, etc.
So I doubt he's champ bailey or revis right now, but those guys weren't bailey and revis either at first. You just take all the hope out of everything for youself and the hope is the best part.

Give him a little mo time is all I'm saying. Lets see what the kids got and how great he wants to be. Dez Bryant is already on record this camp saying he may be one of the best corners in football here shortly. His words. Who knows dude?

Yeah i'm willing to be patient on Claiborne. We would be in better shape had we held onto that 2nd and used on a competent OL along with using this year's 2nd on a competent OL/DL. Clearly our depth problems reflect that right now.

B.W. Webb honors J.J. Wilcox by wearing Wilcox's No. 27 in practice

Rookie cornerback B.W. Webb wanted J.J. Wilcox to know that he was thinking of him. So Webb wore Wilcox's No. 27 jersey to practice Friday.

"That’s like my brother, so I’m just showing my love, let him know I’m still here with him," Webb said. "Whatever he needs I’ve got him."

Wilcox has been excused from practice since his mother, Marshell Wilcox, became gravely ill. Marshell Wilcox died Tuesday after a long battle with lupusa, a chronic and lifelong autoimmune disease that causes the immune system to attack the body’s own tissue and organs. The funeral is Saturday in Cairo, Ga.

Wilcox is expected to rejoin the team in Dallas.

"I’ve talked to him," Webb said. "He’s doing a little better, but it’s hard right now. I can’t imagine losing your parent. I’m just want to let him know I’m here for him if he needs anything."

Webb will wear his own No. 20 in the game Saturday against the Cardinals.

Have you ever considered that maybe these DFW reporters are reading our site and stealing our material?

I remember about 6 or 7 years ago JJT got all pissy with me because I shared an email message he sent to me with this forum. He was lurking under a username and when he saw that I'd posted his email he emailed me back all butt hurt saying I shouldn't share personal emails.

I should have asked him for his username.

:lol

No shit?

Well, he probably hates it here because he's never been spoken that well of on this board.

And I was actually poking fun at the zone with what I said to Iamtdg. I remember the minions were telling Hostile that he should take legal action against the media for "stealing" his analysis.

Yep....unlike Hostile's fables, my JJT encounter was a true story.

You should have told him to make a bet. Or engage in a fistfight.
Maybe JJT would have the balls to follow through with the bet though.

I'm sure a lot of journalists reads forums to get ideas of what the fans want to talk about.

I once saw an article that seemed almost lifted word for word from one of my posts. I only suspect that because I was the only person that wanted the Cowboys to sign Daryn Colledge (before he signed for twice as much money as I thought he was worth) and the article echoes most of my talking points.

If Claiborne goes out and get 5 or more picks this year, you'll all come back to the MO ZONE.
