Speaking of Madden and it's problems, this guy over at OS summed it up for me quite well as far as the bad things about the game goes:

Line play still needs work, it's impossible to shed blocks.

The zones still need work. I'm hoping next-gen cures this (but we'll see). IMHO the zone defenses work better than in NCAA, as I saw some guys reacting very fast to the play but you still get those one-track-mind players who simply are going one direction away from the action no matter what.

EA Football has a formula which some like and others don't. The engine (this generation) has some clear shortcomings which we will likely never see solved on this crop of consoles. I have some hopes that some of the more nagging issues of this generation will be ironed out in next-gen, but I think even then expecting a magical perfect game of football is expecting way too much.

If you have liked Madden in this generation, I feel that this year's game is likely going to be one of the better ones especially with a patch or two and a good slider set to balance out some of the quirks. Madden NFL 25 on current-gen consoles isn't going to change many people's mind, but the game appears to have moved forward again this year.

Right now, if you have been a fan of Madden's in the past this is probably a buy for you. If you are on the other side of the fence, you likely should steer clear of this franchise until next-gen consoles...at least.

This game is the same crap it's been for years, and the only hope I have (and many others have) is that the power of next-gen hardware will help to fix the long time issues. But even then it's not like it's guaranteed to do so. If they use the exact same code that they've been using, then the game will still be crap with slight improvements.

It's just amazing how EA has managed to make such a bad football game for so long. Even NCAA on the PS3 had some good games here and there.....but Madden? Pure crap practically every year.

I really hope the NFL doesn't renew their deal with EA so 2K can get a crack at an NFL game, but being as they are exclusivity whores, I'm sure they will.

There is no reason for them to fix it. EA is the only game in town, and they know it. Retards still buy this garbage year after year. I haven't bought one of their shitty games since that DCC college league I was in. And the lag in the online game just reinforced what a fucking lousy product they are putting out.

Mass Effect fans: The rumors about the new ME game have been all over the place, but one that is gaining a lot of traction is that it will be based on a squad member. Obviously it won't be about Shepard, so the rumor is they will pick a squad member and base if off of their life, prequel style.

Who would you choose? The overwhelming majority of people that I've read pick Garrus. I liked him but he was far from my favorite.

My choice would be either Liara, Jack, or Thane.
Thane would be great.

I did like the Thieves Guild story line much better than the Mages Guild or Fighters Guild.

I actually have not played the Dark Brotherhood yet. I can't get into that.

The Main Quest was solid though.... mostly because the dragons that you encounter throughout the main quest are some of the funnest enemies ever created for a video game, IMO.

I thought the mages guild storyline was a big letdown. Oblivion and even Morrowind had better guild quest lines than Skyrim.

Yeah, Skyrim's guild quest lines were weak. They were way too short. Some of them were only like 5 quests long.

I thought the Thieves guild quest was the best of the four, but overall, very disappointing.

The game overall was great though. I think I personally enjoyed Oblivion more, because for me at the time, it was revolutionary. But I think subjectively speaking Oblivion is better in most ways people measure games... better graphics, hand-crafted dungeons, the new fighting mechanics, etc.

But if you're comparing Skyrim made in 2011 versus Oblivion made in 2006, well, it's not like Oblivion was inferior for its time, it's just older.

How do you turn off accelerated clock in NCAA 14?

I remember many moons ago when I was a video game addict I used to take a couple of days off from work for the Madden release.

I'd take the release date off and an additional day or two afterward just so I could play the game around the clock.

:lol

I used to do the same.

Now I only do that for when new consoles launch.

Played the demo...it is easier to run for sure.

The pass D is a little tougher...a lot of passes, especially curls, that I could complete all day, get knocked out by the defenders. Now it could just be these DBs (Seattle, SF are good hitters), but it looks that way. For what they have improved in zone awareness, it now comes down to tackling where they are sloppier.

Big announcements today for PS4, including the release date.

Let's see what else Sony has up their sleeve.

The closer to Christmas the better IMO.
Again, the rumors are saying end of October.

I don't know if it'll be that soon, but with Xbox coming out in Nov, there is no way Sony launches in December.

At the latest, I would guess the week of Thanksgiving. No way are they going to let the Black Friday rush go on without them.
That's close enough, that's fine. October is too early though. I need stock to be empty at Christmas so I can resell those bad boys for $profit.
