IGN did a most overrated games ever feature, and I couldn't agree more with the winner - GTA 4.

I sure hope that 5 is a lot better.

When you are ready, I have some mod recommendations for improving the experience a bit. The community for these elder scrolls games really do a great job of adding content and producing gameplay tweaks that do not make it "feel" like a user-created mod but instead make it feel like a developer-sanctioned patch that should have been there all along. And the ease with which you can get most of them through the Steam workshop is just amazing (just find a mod you want and hit subscribe).

There is one in particular that you should consider to improve the interface called SkyUI. But it requires manually patching the game with another download called the Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE), so it's more involved than just subscribing in the workshop (one of the few that requires more action on your part). If you PM me your Steam handle I can add you as a friend on there and then you can check out the mods I've favorited/subscribed to.

Does the Legendary edition have all the DLC?

edit: Yes, it does.

Anyway, let me know your thoughts. Skyrim is definitely in the running for "favorite game all time" for me, but I am a total sucker for these open world games that let you go off exploring. I loved Oblivion too, you probably remember, though not everyone else did, and this game is definitely subjectively "better" than Oblivion in almost every way.

SKSE installs automatically now at http://skse.silverlock.org/

Just click on installer.

What are some good mods besides SkyUI? I have some mods for additional sounds and a mod that makes some npcs actually yield when they yell it.

I bet the sounds one is "Sounds of Skyrim" right? I have that one.

What's the name of the mod that makes them yield? I hate how bandits say "I yield!" and then turn around and attack you again.

A good one I'm using is "Shout-Tastic" -- it improves the power and reduces the cooldown of all the shouts to some degree or another. It does a great job without being overpowered. I've seen some mods that completely eliminate cooldown or turn up the power like times 50. It breaks the game. This mod does not -- for example, if the Fire Breath shout normally does 50 points of damage, this turns it up to 80 or 100 or something. And if the cooldown was 90 seconds, this turns it down to 45.

Still not powerful enough to one-hit Drauger Deathlords, but it'll make a little bit more of an impact. It's noticeably more powerful without feeling broken. Same thing with cooldown.... the longer cool downs were really f'n annoying... friggin' 3 or 5 minutes for some of them, it was just too long. This brings it down like like, say, 45 seconds or a minute and a half or two minutes for some of the more powerful ones. It's better, it allows you to make the shouts more a part of your arsenal, which should be the case, without allowing you to go around spamming them. That's definitely one of my favorites.

I also have all the "Unofficial" Skyrim patches. Skyrim, Dawnguard, Dragonborn, the HD patch, etc. Those eliminate some bugs that the devs never got around to. Another two I have are called "Better Potion Weight" and "5kg Dragon Bones and Scales" -- really helps the carrying capacity problem.

Dragons appear way too often later in the game, and if you want to get the bones, you could run into 2-3 dragons a trip and the bones and scales will completely use up all your inventory weight since they weigh 15 and 10 kg each. This turns them down to 5 kg each, much better.

The potions thing is cool -- instead of every potion in the game being a flat 0.5 kg, now it's scaled. A high-level potion is 0.5, but a minor potion is only 0.1, and everything in between. That saves me about 25-50 kg as well.

So what did you guys think of the Madden demo?

I knew a few plays in that it sucked. The same legacy problems continue to plague it. It still feels clunky and it still take way too long for receivers to get moving after they catch the ball.

Why is it so hard to get them to move smoothly through the catch and not take so long to come out of all the catch animations? And what's more, why do the issues they fix one year come back around eventually? The catching animations, the passing game, the useless pass rushers - all this has been issues that the Madden team has failed to solve through 7 versions of PS3 Madden.

I really hope that the upgrade in hardware helps to improve the gameplay of Madden, because this code really sucks and this entire generation of Madden games has been average at best.

Time to completely scrap this code and start all over, and I hope that's what they did for the next-gen version of the game.

FYI, NCAA 14 is better than this Madden that I just played.

The Madden 25 demo was released today. I'm downloading it now.

Does anyone else plan on buying this year's version? If so I wanted to know if you guys were going to do the online league again.
I have the Amazon one preordered. Haven't read a single thing abut the game. Even if the game is a POS, it's worth buying for the NFL Sunday Ticket. No DirecTV for me, and I get dizzy when I watch Redzone exclusively.

:lol :lol :lol

You guys have to check this out, it's gold.

It's like a website promoting tourism for the fictional Los Santos that GTA V takes place in.

Click through the different sections, many of them are interactable.

Particularly watch the Gubernatorial candidates campaign videos! They are classic.

I pre-ordered from Amazon as well. It's a hell of a deal to be able to get Sunday Ticket for essentially $40.

I liked it. But that may be because I haven't played Madden since Madden 11 back in 2010.

So skipping a couple of years makes this year's version look good in my eyes.

I played through some of the skill drills and played half a game with the Seahawks. I thought the running game was better compared to the last version that I played.

What level were you playing on? I played on All-Pro.

The Southeastern Conference announced today that it will not, as a conference, license its trademarks in the EA Sports NCAA Football video game. This decision does not involve member universities as of yet, as this only involves the SEC conference name and logo.

However, this could be the type of event that opens the flood gates to future defections from the game. While the future of the College Football series looked somewhat on stable ground after EA and the CLC agreed to a three year deal, this news rattles the very foundations and future of the series.

"Each school makes its own individual decision regarding whether or not to license their trademarks for use in the EA Sports game(s)," the SEC said in a statement. "The Southeastern Conference has chosen not to do so moving forward. Neither the SEC, its member universities, nor the NCAA have ever licensed the right to use the name or likeness of any student to EA Sports."

This is another move in response to the Ed O'Bannon case which could end collegiate video games forever given unfavorable rulings from the courts.

Today's news only brings more questions as to the viability of the product going forward.

UPDATE: ESPN's Kristi Dosh is reporting that the Big XII says they have yet to make a decision on the inclusion of their marks in future College Football video games.

Truthfully we don't need the SEC or NCAA license for the games because there are so many gamers out there like the ones on Operation Sports who will spend countless hours editing the uniforms and player ratings to make the game as accurate as possible.

So it really doesn't matter if the game doesn't come preloaded with conferences and player likenesses because it's been proven that gamers will spend hours on end making player edits.

Yea, I played on All-Pro too.

I played about a half with the Ravens and when I couldn't shake loose of Vernon Davis's magnificent blocking while using Terrell Suggs, after watching what should've been 20 yard gains only result in 7 yards gains because the receivers acted like they were stuck in quicksand, I turned it off and realized playing even more would be a waste of my time.

Again, I really hope they rebuilt this game from the ground up for PS4. This code is old and vastly in need of improvement.

The Big 12 may still be thinking about it, but the Pac 12 and Big 10 have decided to join the SEC in not license themselves to EA.

Last night while playing the Madden demo the players from the other team disappeared frequently. The players would still be there but they were invisible.

I got scored on twice by an invisible player and was tackled several times by defenders I couldn't see.

A quick web search revealed this is a common problem with the demo. Hopefully, an error this egregious is limited to the demo and not pushed out with the final product.
