I bro in law brought over his PS3 last night so he could use my internet to download some shit cause his internet was down... He was showing me all the free games he gets with that PS3 subscription... I think I might sign up. Seems like he gets great games for free all the time. I don't know much about it though.

Ace?
I have it. It has been amazing. I've gotten more free games than I can play and most of them are pretty big titles

It is an excellent value.

I mentioned this a while back, but every month they give you a bunch of free games - from the AAA games like Uncharted and Bioshock, to the indie games and even kids games.

Right now, BF3 is free until tomorrow and then they are gonna feature some new titles. In the last 12 months alone, they've given over 1,000 bucks in free games and that's really good.

If you share your PS3 with your family, especially kids, then it makes even more sense because its saving you even more money and they offer free games for PSP and PS Vita too.

This subscription will be mandatory for PS4 if you plan to play online, so if you know for sure that you're going to get a PS4 and play online, you might as well get PS+ now and take advantage of all the free stuff on PS3.

I'm kinda waiting to play anything new until I get my new Logitech Z523 speakers.

I've been rolling with a pair of Altec Lansing very low end speakers (the kind they package with someone who buys a computer from Dell as a complete set) that I got used on eBay about 10 years ago. They are finally starting to kick off. Time for an upgrade.

These new ones have a subwoofer and everything. I usually have paid very little attention to sound, so I'm excited to hear the difference now that I'm getting these. They reviewed very well.

For not having $300 to spend, I think I did well.
I've always used the Logitech stuff: mice, keyboards, speakers and universal remotes. They make good stuff and back it thoroughly. Great products.

:lol

You're a bit late to this party.

Many of us have finished the game and I highly recommend that you play it.

I loved it. Don't listen to Booze, it's a keeper. Has replay value, IMO, as well.

I don't know if I'd go as far as Ace does, but it's right up there with Uncharted if you've ever played that. Harder and scarier though.

I'm finally going to give Skyrim a try. Just bought the Legendary Edition on Steam. I hear it's a great game.

When you are ready, I have some mod recommendations for improving the experience a bit. The community for these elder scrolls games really do a great job of adding content and producing gameplay tweaks that do not make it "feel" like a user-created mod but instead make it feel like a developer-sanctioned patch that should have been there all along. And the ease with which you can get most of them through the Steam workshop is just amazing (just find a mod you want and hit subscribe).

There is one in particular that you should consider to improve the interface called SkyUI. But it requires manually patching the game with another download called the Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE), so it's more involved than just subscribing in the workshop (one of the few that requires more action on your part). If you PM me your Steam handle I can add you as a friend on there and then you can check out the mods I've favorited/subscribed to.

Does the Legendary edition have all the DLC?

edit: Yes, it does.

Anyway, let me know your thoughts. Skyrim is definitely in the running for "favorite game all time" for me, but I am a total sucker for these open world games that let you go off exploring. I loved Oblivion too, you probably remember, though not everyone else did, and this game is definitely subjectively "better" than Oblivion in almost every way.

Yep, that's all 3. I don't have Hearthfire myself, but I do have the other two. Hearthfire, from my understanding, doesn't add much content... lets you build a house or something. Adds some items, that's about it. Dawnguard is a full expansion that adds a quest-line, new enemies and items. But Dragonborn is the best-rated one, it adds a new land space that you can go to by "taking a ship" there, as well as a related quest line, items, enemies, and even gameplay features.

They are seemlessly integrated as well, which is awesome, because I hated with other elder scrolls games, you'd add the DLC, and then as soon as you exit the tutorial dungeon it would give you a quest update like "Hey, a mysterious island was reported just off the coast, maybe I should go check it out!" Uh, how would I know that if I just left the tutorial dungeon? If you installed 5 bits of DLC, you'd get 5 pop-up notices as soon as you walked out the dungeon door. Very lazily done when all they had to do was script them to occur later after other events.

Skyrim staggers it so that it doesn't kick in until you've done certain things in the game. Which is natural.

Long overdue. That game was absolutely awesome, there is no reason we haven't seen a sequel yet.
I'm sure it's because Rockstar's main resources have been tied up with GTA V.

I'd bet RDR2 is up next. 'Course that means it'll be another 2 years.

Now they need to do a Pirate game set in the Caribbean with the same treatment.
