Just showed Saints camp in NFLN and the Saints DBs were doing the stupid pushup shit we used to do when they dropped an INT. Good luck with that, fellas.
I've seen many other teams do that, I don't think it is unusual, and I don't think it is helpful other then to build a little extra upper body strength.

Nate Livings practices for the first time; Mackenzy Bernadeau expected back next week

Cowboys left guard Nate Livings was eased back into practice Friday after sitting out the first week with a "boo-boo" on his foot. The cut has healed, and Livings is happy to be back.

"They were being cautious," Livings said after practice. "Football is football. I’ve been playing this game for awhile. It hurts not to be out there to see my teammates going to war, and I’m not there. It’s just good to be back."

The Cowboys have been without their two starting guards from last season. Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said right guard Mackenzy Bernadeau (hamstring) is expected to participate for the first time next week.

I could care less about those two shit stains. They are who they are. The only positive to them being back is that they get a chance to get some continuity with Fredrick. I'm more interested to see Leary back because I think he may actually have a legitimate shot at unseating one of those two.

Livings isn't horrible. Far from what I'd like there, but not horrible. Bernadeu is terrible though. If Leary is half as good as they think he is, I say throw him in early and see what's what.

Bernadeu would be an ok backup, I guess, if you like strong dummies, but he is definetly not a starter.

If Leary has a future, he needs to get a legitimate shot to show what he's got.

Sam LB Justin Durant has been all over the place today. Just knocked down an Orton pass intended for Escobar.
Underrated signing.

Of course our LBs will be reduced in effectiveness because our line is so bad.

The Cowboys expected starting five of Tyron Smith, Livings, Travis Frederick, Bernadeau and Doug Free have yet to practice together.
Gawd.

Seeing those five names in a row is just so ugly.

It's like "Quincy Carter, Dallas Cowboys starting QB" ugly.

Would love it if Leary steps up and then maybe we find a bargain in a trade or late cutdown somewhere to completely turn those two guard spots over.

Livings is not that much better than Bernadeau and there have been days where he is worse. Overall he's a worse signing because he doesn't have utility value, he's older, and he's more expensive.

Bernadeau could at least be that backup OL you dress on gamedays who can play any interior OL position, to go along with your swing tackle. And he's cheaper. If you had to plug him into an already solid OL for a week or two, it wouldn't kill you.

But as a starter? Trainwreck.

I think that's pretty cool.
Me too. Of course, it won't make or break the team's fortunes, but I do think it is a step towards reducing the sense of entitlement the team the team far too Readily seems to want to bestow upon its players.

With two starting probowlers I think you are being a little over dramatic. We may suck at DT and be thin but we also have possibly the best starting DE combo in the NFL.

He said "I want to role model".
You've never misspoke when you're nervous?

I just chalked it up to on camera jitters. He's from a tiny school and probably only has a few on camera interviews under his belt.

Hoping you are right. Still not committing.

Will still insist your faith was based on optimism not logic.

All faith is based on optimism, or else why have faith in it?

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett is not happy with the effort in the walk-through Saturday

The Cowboys had a sloppy walk-through Saturday, a week into their training camp. They had three presnap penalties, dropped balls and mental mistakes.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett was less than pleased.

"It wasn’t as good as it needs to be," Garrett said. "The standard for a walk-through is high. Just because you are walking through, and it’s not a full-speed practice, you have to be into it mentally. You have to be sharp. We understand as coaches we are putting a lot of stuff in every day. We anticipate mistakes. That’s why we go through a walk-through. You clean things up. I just think overall the concentration was only OK. It’s got to be better."

The Cowboys could have tired legs a week into camp, though they did have Thursday completely off and only special teams went through the walk-through portion of practice Friday.

"I don’t really care about what the explanation is or what the excuse is," Garrett said. "We've just got to do it better."

The Cowboys will have a full practice at 5:15 PT.
