Anthony Spencer tweaked his knee in Sat conditioning test and he didn't work in team drills today.

Bruce Carter has had a good day, too. He is always around the football.

Tim MacMahon ‏@espn_macmahon 1h
Dez Bryant gets crowd buzzing with a leaping catch over Orlando Scandrick on back-shoulder throw. Good coverage, better catch.

Todd Archer ‏@toddarcher 1h
Jason Hatcher walks David Arkin back into Romo's lap.

Carlos A. Mendez ‏@calexmendez 1h
Holloman goes up for nice two-handed pick of Orton. Caused by pressure of safety blitz by McCray. Third D.

Carlos A. Mendez ‏@calexmendez 1h
Albright then Bass get to Romo. Held the ball a long time. Then an incompletion on next play. Did not look happy with way that series ended.

Todd Archer ‏@toddarcher 1h
DeMarco Murray with a nice feel on screen. Set up Sean Lee and have his blocker chance to make play

Carlos A. Mendez ‏@calexmendez 1h
Monte Taylor gets a virtual sack of Kyle Orton. Then they roll Orton on the next play. Looked fairly comfortable. Made an ok throw.

Tim MacMahon ‏@espn_macmahon 1h
Barry Church comes up with a diving pick, got up and scored. Orton's low throw in the flat went off Tanner's hands.

Carlos A. Mendez ‏@calexmendez 1h
Sterling Moore getting in the action. Flings Dwayne Harris to the ground, knocks his helmet off. Dreds everywhere. Caught the ball though.

Todd Archer ‏@toddarcher 1h
LB Deon Lacy couldn't elude a dummy on special teams drills. Ran over and fell. What happens when he faces things that move?

Play of the Day: Sean Lee's pick

July, 21, 2013

By Tim MacMahon | ESPNDallas.com

OXNARD, Calif. – All due respect to Monte Kiffin’s Tampa 2, but no defensive scheme is good enough to force turnovers if it doesn’t feature playmakers.

The Cowboys believe Sean Lee and Bruce Carter can be that type of impact players in Kiffin’s scheme for years to come. The highlight of the Cowboys’ first practice of training camp only enhanced that vision.

Carter, one of the league’s most athletic linebackers, made a leaping deflection of a Tony Romo laser beam thrown into heavy traffic. Lee came up with the rebound and a nice return after the pick.

Lee is a proven playmaker when healthy, picking off four passes and recovering two fumbles in 2011, when he missed only one game. Carter hasn’t forced any turnovers in his career, but his speed and athleticism give him great playmaking potential as the Will linebacker in Kiffin’s scheme.

On one hand, it wasn’t exactly encouraging to see Romo, who tied for the league lead with 19 interceptions last season, have a risky throw get picked off. But creating more turnovers is a major priority for the Dallas defense, which had only 16 last season, 28 fewer than the Tampa 2-playing Chicago Bears.

Stephen Jones confirms that Tyrone Crawford suffered season-ending torn Achilles. Points to Barry Church as proof can come back strong.
So when we lose Spencer we will be counting on him to start like Church.

Get it?

I asked a Cowboys source about John Abraham and didn't get indication that he'd be a fit here.

Calvin Watkins @calvinwatkinsCowboys have 1 roster spot left and Stephen Jones said DL is a possibility.
---------------

Don't worry, Goof Son is on this.
A possibility?

With all of our injuries on the line and the drunk brothers at DT being out for one reason or another, does our open roster spot need to even be discussed? What the hell else would it be?

Morons.

:lol

What?! How is Barry Church proof of anything? He hasn't played a single down of football since week 3 of last season, so how exactly does goof son know that he's come back strong?

This kind of idiocy makes caring less about this team so easy.

Why on earth would we want Abraham when we can get some random CB schlub instead?

Injury report: Spencer gets nicked up
July, 21, 2013

By Calvin Watkins | ESPNDallas.com

OXNARD, Calif. -- The Cowboys suffered a potentially season-ending injury during their first training camp practice.

Here's our daily injury report:

• Tyrone Crawford suffered a torn left Achilles tendon during an individual noncontact drill. It's the second consecutive season the Cowboys have lost a player to this injury in training camp. Last season, linebacker Caleb McSurdy suffered the same injury during individual drills.

• Anthony Spencer missed the last hour of practice with a balky left knee. Spencer said he tweaked the same knee he hyperextended during offseason workouts. Spencer said he rested as a precaution. Kyle Wilber replaced him with the first team.

• Nate Livings (foot) is on the physically unable to perform list, but there's a hope he can return by midweek.

• Ryan Cook didn't practice because he failed Saturday's conditioning test.

• Ronald Leary (calf) missed practice, and his status is day-to-day.

• Mackenzy Bernadeau (hamstring) hasn't practiced the entire offseason. He missed time recovering from shoulder surgery, and now he's out with a hamstring injury suffered during the conditioning test.

• Demetress Bell, like Cook, didn't pass the conditioning test. Until he passes it, he won't participate.

• L.P. Ladouceur (calf) is out, but the team isn't concerned about his long-term status.

• Jay Ratliff (hamstring) will practice when his strained hamstring heals. Ratliff is on the PUP list, but he passed the conditioning test. He strained his hamstring while running it.

"Mountain-running Romo" is going to become a theme this year.

“He’s got a long ways to go,” Hatcher said of Crawford. “He’s going to be one of the great ones. He can definitely be a Hall of Famer. He’s got the potential to be a Hall of Famer.”
Someone needs to drug test Jason right now.
