85 yards of Randles 86 yard performance came in 3 plays. Like I said feast or famine. A power running game where a guy is good for several 4-7 yard runs is infinitely more useful.
Correct!

3 carries for 85 yards plus 11 carries for 2 yards is not good production.

Yea that's great for a change of pace back but not for sustaining drives, which is what our strength was last year

But what exactly has Michael done to prove that he's a better option than Randle?

Seattle plays a ground and pound style of offense and they gave up on him. That doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence that he'll be able to come into Dallas and magically start churning out the tough yardage.
What has Michael done? Basically nothing so far.

But we do have the ability to evaluate a guy and see potential in someone.

I've enough of Randle. He's a part time player who can't consistently give good production. Maybe I am wrong on Michael. But I've seen randle bump his head against his ceiling enough to know I want to try something else.

Randle is holding us back. Some of you guys have latched on to him and don't want to see it, but it is what it is.

So, the J has come out and hyped Michael, suggest Dez be used like Julio and said he wants to see more Escobar.

Wonder if this is just him talking out of his ass or he's dictating what he wants.
Maybe so but I agree with it.

I think you're wrong on Randle but right on Michael...

So take it for what it's worth. I do think a 1 2 combination of Randle and Michael could make for a really good two headed monster.

Doesn't matter much.

That's an 0-3 team that wasn't good last year and has the arrow pointed downward big time.

What's more, there's no way that guy is 100%.

This game will be determined by how much success Weeden has throwing down the field, and which version of our defense shows up.

Brees is obviously better than McCown, but an already struggling Brees leading a bad team with an arm that isn't completely healthy is not what's going to be our downfall should we lose.

The Saints are equally vulnerable regardless of who starts, and this is the last winnable game we're gonna have for weeks so we better find a way to win.

Not to mention their passing target's blow. The only guy with even respectable talent is Cooks who is still basically a glorified slot WR.

I could not disagree more. I think Michael is much better than Randle. Hopefully we'll get a chance to see it.

Randle is simply not very good. He'll bust a couple, but the majority of his runs are usually junk.
I think there is a microscope on him...I think he is better that you think he is, but there is no question he is a step down from Murray. He opened his mouth though, so that is on him.

The concerns this week shouldn't be about the offense it should be whether the defense can get it together. If they can the offense will be okay. They can get back to a run oriented playbook.

No question, we need to see the defense that played in the first two games. Hell that defense carried us against the Eagles and would have against the Giants if our offense didn't just hand them free points.

I will go ahead and make a prediction. I think we win Sunday. Not only do we win but we win by double digits. Michael has a huge day. Beasley has a huge day. We go back to loving the team again.

I think we win but only because the defense gets back on track. It is going to be a struggle.

I would be thrilled with that. I really hope they do get it back together. I'll take 3-2 going into the bye week with Dez hopefully returning soon.

I don't agree with that. From what I've seen as a pro, I think Randle is a better runner.
Randle's a small-time back on a team with some big guns. Sometimes they help him look the part, but mostly he's exposed as a very, very average runner.

I've posted about this guy a thousand times and people still refuse to believe even when it's plainly in front of them.

Michael has the speed and physicality Randle will never have, hence he's got the best potential.

As a matter of fact, I saw a stat the other day that said Randle was actually ranked 3rd in the league in average yards per rush after contact.
Yay for Randle. He can post this utterly stupid stat on his bedroom wall for his kids one day. So I guess he's better than all but 3 RB's in the league now?

Please stop with the delusions.

The biggest issue with our running game is that the OL is under-performing.
This is simply not true.

Sure they haven't played as well as last year, but that is a nearly impossible standard to keep meeting, especially with the obvious downgrade in coaching.

But that doesn't hold a candle to:

3) Losing your biggest receiving threat with no one stepping up to take up the slack.

2) Replacing your star QB with an unproven fool just because he was a #1 pick back in the day.

1) Losing a real RB in Demarco Murray, replacing him with Darren fucking McFadden and calling it a day.

Demarco helped the OL produce by grinding through even when they messed up. If the OL messes up with Randle, guaranteed it's a zero-gainer.

Randle can only get what the OL blocks for him. He's average.

You may have preached it Ravi but it has yet to come to pass. Randle so far has held his own whether it has been few touches or a lot of touches. He is like most of the RBs in the league. He get stopped and he has strong spurts but overall his average is still in the upper tier. Randle is a serviceable back and at this point the. best one Dallas has. That isn't an opinion it is born out by the numbers. When he folds I will get in line with you but at the moment he is the hope for the Dallas running game.

Fair enough.

But Dallas is getting Michael ready for a reason. Unfortunately he must have his own problems, but hopefully none of it relates to actual on the field performance.

I think Michael is needed because there Is no one on the team hat can get the hard yards. Hopefully he will be a an assert to the ball possession side of the game.
