TCUs defense has lost a lot. They gave up 500 yards to SMU. You can't count Patterson out though. He's a damn good coach. It could be a fun game.

A lot of what TCU gave up was because of SMU's new QB Matt Davis. He transferred from A&M and had to sit out a year I think. But in watching that game from the field, he was pretty good that night both running and passing. Granted, TCU's DBs weren't great, but those SMU recievers were making some amazing catches.

I get what you are saying but SMU has been terrible. He didn't get it turned around to the point that he suddenly got 500 yards on one of the supposed best defenses. TCU is struggling a little on defense.

They lost tons last year and 2 of their big defensive guys just got charged with robbery by the TCU police.

I completely forgot that TCU put up 82 on Texas Tech last year.

Wow.

Reminds me of that 77-0 beat down Oklahoma put on Texas A&M back in '03.

I'll lay down my thoughts for the day.

- TCU will have up to 7 defensive starters out for the game today. That could be a problem for them. Of course their system has been in place and proven for many years, so I expect them to come ready to play. They just won't be a stout as usual. That will could matter in this game.
- Tech sees this offense daily in practice. That could matter in this game.
- Tech's offense is really good. I expect them to move the ball today.
- Tech offense can be physical. I feels good to see the oline get down in a 3 point stance and blow people up if they want to. I haven't seen that in 15+ years on many occasions. Surprisingly Tech out physical-ed Arkansas and their "SEC size and speed". Those last two drives Tech ran the ball down their throat and pretty much buttraped Arky.
- Tech's defense is not really good but they are at least where they are supposed to be on the field. I expect them to give up some big yards this season but continue to play hard and with some pride.
- From a pure fan standpoint I think today could be fun.

David Cutcliffe is a really underrated head coach. Winning at Duke is pretty much an impossible task and he has managed to do that for at least a couple of seasons. He had a solid stint coaching at Ole Miss as well.
