PFT and Clarence Hill reporting that Romo WILL NOT need surgery and that he will be expected back in "about" 8 weeks, which would be in time for the Bucs on Nov. 15.

I'm still hoping its 6 and he plays Nov 1 against Seattle. :unsure

Not sure why 8 weeks is good news. 6 weeks would be good news.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo reportedly won't undergo surgery to repair his fractured left clavicle and is expected to miss eight weeks, according to PFT.

On a play early in the third quarter of Sunday afternoon's game with the Eagles, Romo was sacked in the backfield and landed awkwardly on his left shoulder. He was taken to the locker room for X-rays which revealed a fracture in his left clavicle.

Eight weeks from now, the Cowboys travel to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers in Week 10 (Nov. 15). The following week, the 'Boys head to Miami to play the Dolphins (Nov. 22). And in Week 12, the Cowboys play the Panthers at home on Thanksgiving (Nov. 26).

Keep these three dates in mind with Romo's return date. He will have miss 6-8 games in that time frame including two divisional matchups with the Eagles and Giants. Backup quarterback Brandon Weeden will be under center with Romo out.

This is the same injury Romo had in Week 6 of the 2010 NFL season that kept him out for the year. However, the Cowboys saw no reason for Romo to come back that year as their playoff hopes diminished by his possible return date.

I think we can beat the Falcons easier than we can beat the Eagles again. They won't be that flat a second time so unless Weeden is planning on putting up 24+ against them, that will be a tall order.

No one said season ending except boozeman and he's worst case scenario about everything.
I think the good news was the no surgery part.

Well no shit because such a thing would be impossible. They were not "flat", they were non-existent.

I don't get why people think the Eagles would be any good at all offensively. McCoy and Maclin were impact players in their spread-based schemes, and both are gone.

The elephant in the room is their guards and QB flat out suck. They have an average #1 WR and Agholor is a pup.

Sure they missed a couple of plays because Agholor and Bradford are not on the same page. But that doesn't excuse Bradford's sucking ass in every other aspect.

Sam Bradford has proven jack shat at the pro level. Nothing. He has never proven he's anything but a bust, and his own team couldn't wait to trade him away FOR ANOTHER QB.

They had 4 fucking yards rushing with no room in sight for improvement, other than falling forward would be an improvement. This after their lead RB had a whole 9 yards rushing in his debut.

It's stupid to believe the Eagles are anything other than below average offensively.

Much can be said about Dallas being bad too, but there is at least hope in Dallas.

Well it was just a suggestion. 10 weeks has been said so that should work as well.

The NFL radio was saying 6-8 weeks now. That seems the most likely to me. Obviously the break was not bad which is why it isn't requiring surgery. That should shorter the time table to the lower side of things. That means he should be closer to the Aaron Rodgers and Troy Aikman type recoveries.

This morning ESPN's medical expert said that whenever he's treated players with broken clavicles he's done the surgery and the recovery timeline has been 8 weeks.

He was saying the benefit of doing surgery is that you can begin rehab immediately since the surgery provides immediate stability.

If that's the case I wonder why they just didn't go with the surgery.

My guess is that the team hopes he will be back quicker than 8 weeks

We will see if they put him on IRDTR. If they don't then they obviously think he will make it back before 8 weeks.

I'm guessing if the fracture isn't displace the surgery would be invasive and cause a delay in the healing process.

If he's out eight weeks at least, they need to go ahead and do it.

They can't carry him, Gregory and Dez Bryant on the 53 forever.

I almost don't mind him taking an inactive slot. It gives us a better chance to see Michael actually active.

I find myself pinning a lot of hope on this kid. There's a real chance he can make an impact for us in short yardage and maybe a lot more.

That goal line stand by Philly was embarrassing.
