So wait through 59 minutes of bullshit by an incompetent coach to see 1 minute of brilliance by your QB? Ya, that's been a bit of a running theme around here for years.
The coach didn't cause all the turnovers that allowed the Giants to take over the game.

The defense was strong all night aside from Mincey's dumbass penalty and allowing the 3rd and 14 conversion, losing Gregory for a few weeks will hurt but once Hardy and McClain are back, this defense could be something. The offense was a complete joke of course, if they could've just kept from tripping over their own dicks all game we probably win by 2 TD's, but the amount of pre-snap confusion, drops and unforced turnovers was mind boggling.

Losing Bryant is obviously huge but the bye week comes at an opportune time which will allow him to probably miss only 4 games as opposed to 5 or 6. If we can go 2-2 over the next 4 that is a huge win considering the soft back end of the schedule. I wasn't that bothered by the run/pass ratio, we seemed to stay committed as the game went on, but the last 2 drives really drove up the amount of pass attempts. With that said, Randle is a flakey joke who is mediocre at best in pass protection, is loose with the ball and gets taken down too easily by defenders in 1 on 1 situations where he could've turned a 3 or 4 yard gain into a 8-12 yard gain had he beaten the defender. Basically, save us Christine Michael.

If our WR's can stop letting passes clang off their hands I think we can get by for a few weeks without Bryant because of how good Romo is right now but it will be ugly at times. That shitheel Escobar needs to step up and actually make plays because he's going to get alot of targets the next few weeks.

me :laff

After working out of town the last few days and getting home late I wanted to watch the game but finally went to bed after the Mincey personal foul gave Giants 1st down inside the 20. Nice surprise this morning. Amazing to give away 17 points and still win.

Great to see they found a way to pull it out and didn't quit like in the past. A shame about Dez and Gregory, we just need to stay afloat til the bye week.

Still concerned with the run game, but it's obvious we're going to use the dump off passes to the backs in lieu of some rushes which if like last night, will have similar or better results.

Can't wait til after the bye and have Dez, Gregory and Hardy all back.

I don't think that makes it "incompetence." If it does, what does that say about Coughlin, who was not short on offensive weapons himself and yet despite being handed 17 points, only had his offense put up 9 more?

Incompetence? Outcoached by Garrett?

If this becomes habitual for the rest of the season, then maybe it's incompetence... But as of right now it looks a lot like early season rust just like last season.

If so, that's simply a byproduct of coach policy to rest the starters in the preseason. Which I may not agree with but I don't think it's incompetence either.
It's incompetence because it was Garrett's insistence to not use his time in the preseason to be ready. Players look sluggish and out of sync.

As for Coughlin, yea they aren't good at all. But let's be honest, they don't have the same talent that Dallas has. They don't have the OL, DL, LBs and it's a push at WR at best.

So by this logic, no coach should ever be fired. They just call the plays, players didn't execute.

Riiiiiiiiiight
That's just personal malcontent talking. What has that to do with players committing turnovers?

Both RBs were underwhelming. Our running game was very mediocre, particularly given the opponent. I'm ready to see Michael.
I didn't see the stats for the running game but on the surface it wasn't something to write home about.

It happens and this was a perfect example. I'll bet a lot of folks wish they could have held up on some of their comments.
Maybe, but that would defeat the purpose of a Gameday thread. Might as well just lock the forum til after the game. I think it's more entertaining this way.

I am not trying to dampen the chat. Just pointing out that there are times to wait for the outcome before throwing in the towel.

It's be interesting to see what each defense was doing to each others star WR. I don't think there was one pass thrown +25 yards.

Another major F up by Eli that isn't being mentioned was the snap after OBJ had ran the dead ball to the endzone. The Giants were given a new 40 second play clock, and both it and the game clock started on the placement of the ball. Eli should have run the entire play clock down before snapping the ball, but instead snapped it with 18-19 seconds left. He's getting skewered for throwing the ball away and stopping the clock, and rightfully so. But this was also a HUGE boneheaded mistake that left time on the clock for Dallas late in the game.

Not to mention the illegal formation penalty that saved the Cowboys time, too.

Man, the games final minutes was similar to our Lions loss a couple years back where stafford kept into the end zone on the final play.

There was a real emphasis on getting the ball out of the QBs hand quickly...particularly Eli. I was happy with Patmon in some of those instances...he did not make a play on the ball per se, but he definitely led to some tougher throws for Eli.

Basically LT is saying if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.

I should know better by now but turned it off when they got the first down inside the 5 yard line.
Must be nice to wake up and check the score and be pleasantly surprised, though.

Sometimes you just have to win ugly. I'm concerned about the next month or so without Dez, Gregory, Hardy, and McCain, but I feel the Cowboys have grown mentally tough enough to get through.

Eagles, Falcons, Saints (indoors), and Patriots is not a light stretch.
