Sure, but when someone posts an opinion that may not be popular, there will be discussion and debate about it. And, when someone disagrees with you, you can't just drop a "You think you know better than the coaches?" line and expect that to end the debate. People have opinions, and they express them on here because this is, well, a msg board.

That "coaches know best" line is very zonish, btw.
Yeah, I didn't really say that though. I can tell that you are really offended by what I said but just think about it. You are still missing the point.

You think that my post was focused on the coaching staff. You are wrong there. My post was focused mainly on you. Lets talk about that.

1. Why did it make you so angry to be questioned?

2. Ever consider that your opinion is wrong?

3. Do you consider yourself an expert in football?

4. In reference to football knowledge what would you categorize yourself as? Super fan? amateur scout? Don't let me put words in your mouth...you tell me...

I didn't get upset because you questioned by football acumen. I got upset because you made the retarded ass statement that someone shouldn't defend their positions and that the coaches know best.

Skid, I really don't understand what you're trying to do here.

Iamtdg is not alone in voicing a strong opinion on DCC.

Should our user titles now reflect our coaching and/or football playing experience?

Your opinion was condescension by implying that we're not qualified to have an opinion on the matter because we haven't coached professional football, while you have coached 5-on-5 HS football and are much more aware of an NFL coaching staff's decision making.

If it's become stale, it's time to open the gates.

But if you have to flash coaching credentials before you can post an opinion there may be an issue.

I honestly apologize if that's what it seems like I meant. I don't consider that I am an expert. I tried my best to put that into words. The reason I said that I have some experience was to show the contrast between myself and everyone else that is so much more qualified than me to have an opinion. Then you have guys here that don't really know anything that really believe that their ideas are superior than people in the NFL. Like, smart enough to make snap judgments and team impacting decisions on an NFL team after one pre-season game. So much that if you question them tyhey get really really angry.

lolo, like seriously doods. You really bought into yourself.

I went ahead and changed mine so as to save on confusion in the future.

I guess that part really got under your skin. I'm hoping you can read what I said and see that was not what I meant. I even said that several times. I'm guessing you aren't willing to take my word for it, eh?

This is the point that sticks in my craw. You may as well be saying that we can never ever question a personnel move or all of a sudden we think we are smarter than all the coaches. It's stupid to even suggest that we shouldn't discuss stuff like this on a damn msg board.

I get what Skid is saying. The arguments on this board are fun, but sometimes people, myself included, can take themselves a little too seriously. That's kinda the point though, isn't it?
Pretty much. You spend too much time on this bitch and really start believing it is real life.

Like I said earlier I've done the same thing 1,000,000 times.

Take a step back and observe and it can get really comical.

So, basically you have grown up and seen the light and the rest of us simpletons are still stuck in fairy lala land.

But again, that's what we're at the DCC for.

He's not stalking Garrett out, hiding in the bushes ready to ambush him as he walks out his front door with footage of La'el at LSU destroying a small school DB. "Why he no start at RT, smart guy? I know things, see!!"

So what if we're not smart enough to be an NFL coach? That shouldn't keep us from having discussions about what we believe could be done differently.

And during those discussions if you don't take your own opinions seriously, I'm not sure how you'd be able to convey your thoughts with any amount of conviction.

"I hope he'll be good. Suppose we should just __________ & _________"

You are being dramatic. Let's just stick to what I said and not what you think I suggested. I just might have a little skin in the game as far as discussion on a message board goes. You think? You aren't thinking clearly right now because emotion has taken over.

YES!!!! That is what the DCC is for. Exactly. Discussing.

Let me give you an example:

iamtdg (and just about every other person here) - Garrett is stupid, Jerry ruined the Gulf War, it is easy to see that Collins should start at T tomorrow.

skid - you don't know shit about football.

the DCC - you self-righteous muther frivker!!! you don't want us to talk about footbasll!!!

So, what will your response be the next time someone suggest we should have Vaughn as the #2 QB instead of Weeden? "You don't think that the coaches have seen him in drills, and decided he isn't ready"? Well, that statement can be applied to almost every debate whether warranted or not.

Honestly, I think I'm probably smarter then everyone else when it comes to football and I'm basically always right. For the rest of you guys this stuff may apply though. :unsure

Awesome.

What would your response be then? We could discuss it.

So take the high road and discuss.

Why do you think that he should be left at G? Just because the coaches say so?

That's fine, state that you trust the coaching staff.

I just don't get why you would need to call in to question another poster's football knowledge at that point.

You really sound like our old friend sbk92 in that regard. In fact, your first post in this thread even included the word "retarded". Uh oh, are you qualified to run a message board?

Take it to the QB thread, guys. We're discussing T/G scenarios here.

No one is impervious to mistakes. A second grade teacher who knows all kind of mathematics may make a simple mistake when solving a math problem on the board. Does that mean a child in her class can't see the mistake and point it out? After all the child has way less knowledge and experience on the subject then the teacher.

Am I the only one that sees the irony in this? It isn't self-righteous to pretend that the Cowboys staff are idiots and that you know better but it IS self-righteous to suggest that maybe you are wrong?
