You don't sign older veterans like that to be camp bodies. The injuries we have taken at LBer are to guys who wouldn't have likely made the roster in the first place.
If we were to sign someone like Briggs it would be after week 1 when his contract isn't guaranteed.

Someone like Lance Briggs isn't going to be ok doing special teams all year. If you sign someone like that it's because you think he will start for the team. I just don't think Briggs is talented enough to do that anymore.

When did I say anything about him playing special teams? Aging vets get signed after week 1 every year. Nobody wants to give him a guaranteed contract right now but once the season starts and players start getting hurt he'll sign somewhere if he wants to.

Oh I agree with you. I was just specifically referring to the people who want us to sign him now. It would make no sense for a team like Dallas until injuries hit and someone like Lance Briggs would have a chance to start.
