On The Fan, Scott Linehan says his son plays middle linebacker at Highland Park, not an offensive position.

#Cowboys fans shouldn't be worried about the running game. They'll replace Murray with Randle, Dunbar, D-Mac.

#Lions threw a lot because that was how they were built. "Everybody wants to be able to run the football"

the #Cowboys have a similar offensive plan the '14, which was by design.
he and Jason Garrett wanted to get back to the old '90s #Cowboys.

you don't see run success early in games. Teams will load the box and you'll get 2-3 yard runs.
run game success happens over four quarters and by sticking to it.

he realized the #Cowboys OL was really good before he got there, even before the drafting of Zack Martin.

Joe Randle has great rushing instincts; he has patience, sets up his blocks real well.
Joe Randle has a sneaky burst to get that explosive run.

Darren McFadden has homerun speed and the same speed he's always had.

Murray was kind of getting a little beat up near the end of '14, so they did give Randle more carries.

#Romo is, "doing a good job of managing his age."

La'el Collins will have veterans ready to compete with him; no one is going to give him a spot.

Feh.

He's not very good anymore and he can't stay healthy.

No thanks.

Attn: @DallasCowboys

In a limited role, I'd be OK with a 1 year NFL minimum - $1 mil deal. He can still run, catch, and pass block, and while he's declining from age a lot of his issues stemmed from poor blocking.

He doesn't need to be a 150-carry back in Dallas, and with limited touches we might see bursts of the old greatness. He'd be a Hell of a lot more reliable than Ryan Williams.

Thing is despite his size he's not really a redzone back which IMO is what the team could use. I would hope we could do better, but the NFL cupboard is bare outside of wife-beaters.

He had me at 90s Cowboys, but talking about sticking with the run is refreshing. It helped Romo have a big year and could extend his career a couple years.

This line is very reminiscent of those lines. I think it will be as good or better over time.

It's already more talented, but the early 90's lines had amazing chemistry. Big E was the one super-talented player who made everything better, which was impressive considering he was a RT.

Smith > Tuinei
Leary < Newton
Frederick > Stepnoski
Martin > Gesek
Free << Big E

Post 1994 you've got:

Smith >> Tuinei
Leary > Newton
Frederick >> Fill in the blank
Martin << Allen
Free == Big E

The enormous potential when you figure Martin, Smith, and Fred keep improving and the addition of Collins clearly set this line apart. The 90's OL was blocking for an all-timer in Emmitt Smith, so it will be very hard to truly compare.

I tell you one thing, I never saw the 90's lines block for 7-8 seconds like we saw this OL do on more than one occasion in 2014.

Does Rod Marinelli have a soft side? Randy Gregory: "If he does, I haven't seen it yet."

Randy Gregory: First time I met Garrett, he basically told me I wasn't tough. I left his office thinking Im not sure he wants me on his team

Randy Gregory compares facing Tyron Smith to a chess match. When Gregory does one move, Tyron immediately counters w/ something to stop him

Randy Gregory declined to reveal his current weight. Says he's a little under 265. "In a perfect world, I would be 265, I'll just say that.":ez

Randy Gregory: Tyron Smith's "one of the most athletic left tackles in the league. He's very detailed. I've learned a lot from him so far."

Randy Gregory on Rod Marinelli: "I never told him, but I was kinda starstruck meeting him for the first time."

Randy Gregory on Rod Marinelli's Normandy story: The moral of the story is we've got to communicate or else we’ll all die.

I can't say Frederick is better than Stepnoski.... yet. The guy made the all decade team.

If Frederick plays as well as he has for the next several years he deserves that. Stepnoski regressed rapidly and (from what I've heard) was pretty easily overpowered.

Cowboys fans respond to Eagles fans' stunt, Greg Hardy delivers

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy loves the fans. So when members of Cowboy Nation decided to reach out to him on Friday night to help respond to Eagles fans' lame troll attempt", the pass rusher delivered.

One Cowboys fan, Ashley Hill, started a GoFundMe page to help pay for an airplane to fly a "WE GOT THE DIVISION" banner over Eagles training camp on Aug. 9th. Eagles fans had started their own page earlier in the day so they could help pay for a "We Got DeMarco :)" banner to fly over Cowboys training camp in Oxnard, Calif.

In just three hours, Cowboys fans raised enough money to reach the $1,350 goal. Hardy donated a whopping $300 to help the push the cause over the top. Other fans had donated as much as $50 in support of America's Team.

This is clearly better than what Eagles fans are attempting to do. The Cowboys basically let running back DeMarco Murray walk during free agency as they didn't want to pay him the money that the Eagles ended up paying him. The Cowboys should be just fine with the best run-blocking offensive line in the NFL and a hungry Joseph Randle behind them.

The Cowboys and Eagles face each other in Week 2. This is already one of the most anticipated games of the season.

Kinda wish Hardy hadn't engaged. But I guess it's nice he's all filled with team pride.
