Uncharted looks like it's going to be more open than it has ever been.

Awesome.

I'm glad it's coming out next year because Star Wars and Batman are going to dominate so much of my time this year I wouldn't want it to get lost in the shuffle.

Ok, this is my rough estimation of game backlog at this point. Thanks a lot, career. I own all these games either for PC (Steam, mostly, or Origin), or PS4, and have not beaten any of them (except where I note an exception). Most were purchased for serious discounts during sales.

Priority:
GTA 5 (PC version) (this constitutes a 2nd play through but it's too awesome on PC at 4k not to play)
GTA Online (I'd like to finish the heists and level up my character a bit)
Far Cry 4 - I'm about halfway done the main quest
Dragon Age Inquisition - I've put in about 10 hours into a 200 hour game
Crysis 3 - I've played only the opening level
Witcher 3 - I've gotten about 2 hours into this one, another 200 hour game.
Mass Effect 3 - I got a couple hours into this one but it was on the tail of replaying Mass Effect 2, and I couldn't take more of the same, but I need to go back and finish this.
Mercenary Kings - I was playing this multiplayer with friends. It's an Indie gem. We got about a quarter of the way through it.
Max Payne 3 - Have played maybe halfway through it. Very solid, and gets bonus points because Max Payne 2 was an all-timer.
Suikoden 2 - A legendary Japanese RPG originally for PS1, re-released as a classic. Remember from when I was a kid. Need to play this.

Non-Priority but I'd like to play soon:
State of Decay - another Indie game, I've tinkered with it, really stellar for it's budget, but it's another open world game I don't have time for.
Dishonored - Heard great things. Played the first half hour or so. Seems cool.
Watch Dogs - Purchased for $60 bucks on PS4, played maybe 10 hours, haven't gone back because it couldn't hold my attention.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Again, heard great things. Haven't touched it.
Alan Wake - played through maybe half of it. Part of the problem is I can only play it during the day. :unsure
LA Noire - Another game that got solid reviews but just isn't good enough to creep higher on my list.
RAGE - See LA Noire. It's graphical problems contribute to it's status here.
Tomb Raider - Played about half. Got sidetracked. I'll go back... someday. Probably have to start over cause I forget all the controls.
Witcher 2 - Jesus, just no time. Not as good as Witcher 3 so it gets buried.
Dead Island - Another good co-op multiplayer game that we don't have time to finish as a group.
Apotheon - Another amazing indie game, that I'll get to when I can.

Games I'd like to tinker with once I finish all of the above:
Torchlight 2
Saints Row the Third
Tropico 4
Dragon Age Origins - Have never touched this game despite it being a "great." Probably will never get to it.
Titanfall - No single player means I'll put in a couple more hours of Multiplayer and call it a day.
Assassin's Creed 1, Assassins Creed 2, it's expansions, and Assassin's Creed 3 - Got them all super cheap on a sale. Maybe someday.
Every PS+ game I've downloaded since getting the PS4 in December 2013 that I haven't put much or any time into.

Games I'd like to beat again because they are awesome or because I want achievements:

Red Dead Redemption - I 100%'d this game, but I don't have the Platinum trophy. I'd probably need to put in 40 hours of multiplayer to get it.
Last of Us Remastered - Need to platinum this game too.
Fallout 3 - Only played this once. Unlike Skyrim which I beat with multiple characters.

That's all I can think of right now. I'm sure there's more. And I left off plenty of games that I know full well I'll never play or have limited interest in despite owning.
Still a virgin, eh?

A Stars Wars FPS, eh. Very intriguing.

I've grown tired of FPS games but I would definitely give that one a try.

Is this the first Star Wars game that's an FPS? All the other ones that I've seen were action adventure types.

:lol

I was just coming in to tell you that.

Sony killed it tonight. They announced 3 huge titles that had been rumored then shot down, then rumored and shot down again, only to finally be revealed after all this time.

The Last Guardian, FF7 Remake, and Shenmue 3.

Uncharted 4 looks amazing and Star Wars is gonna be a blast.
I told you I still have my copy of FF7 from my PS1 days. I may throw it in the PS3 to pass some time this summer.

It's been a few years since I last played it.

Good news, or terribly disheartening news?

Todd Howard announces that after Fallout 4, his team at Bethesda is likely to "develop a new IP" instead of continuing to alternate between the Elder Scrolls and Fallout.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I want another Elder Scrolls before I'm too old to play video games anymore!

Horrible news. Skyrim was an amazing game. It would really piss me off if that was the final installment of that series.

Vader would kick the shit out of Luke at that point. He was still toying with him at the end of Empire even after all the Jedi training Yoda gave him. 0/10 for accuracy. :geek

It won't be the end of the series, it just means they'd insert another IP into their rotation before returning to the Elder Scrolls. With game production times increasing, we already wouldn't see Elder Scrolls 6 until like 2019. If they do a new game, forget it, we'll be in our 40s.

Look at these release timelines from the developer, Bethesda softworks (I'm leaving out expansion packs and game of the year re-releases as they don't require the full team):

2002 - Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind
2004 - Some wgas racing game
2006 - Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion
2008 - Fallout 3
2011 - Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim
2015 - Fallout 4

They've gone from cranking out games every 2 years, then stretched it to 3, and now 4 years. If they start a new IP we may not see it till 2019. Then to go back to the Elder Scrolls 6 when?? To release it in 2023??

F that!!

Meanwhile there is a new Assassin's Creed bag of flaming shit every 9 months.

But apparently we have to wait 8-10 years between installments of Elder Scrolls or Fallout moving forward now.

Too bad they couldn't hold to the every 4 years timeline. I'd love to see an Elder Scrolls game in 2016. Unfortunately I think they are thinking that Elder Scrolls online will suffice for a long time and can just be updated with content. I may have to give it a try.

Assassins Creed basically took over all the properties they were going to release. Black Flag wasn't supposed to be an AC game. It was it's own stand alone IP and when they saw how the AC just kept churning money, they revamped it to fit their story and just inserted their characters into their already created world.

There are a ton of other things to move on to instead, IMO.

See, and I think the Assassins Creed part of that game was the weakest part. The part that stuck to pirates was the best.
