If we somehow end up with Adrian Peterson...?

Greatest. Offseason. Evar.
That would be amazing. I think it is pretty far fetched at this point but never say never. Bill Jones (former dallascowboys.com guy now local Dallas CBS sports guy) said during the draft coverage that he was hearing if Minnesota does decide to trade Peterson that they will intentionally not trade him to Dallas because that is what he wants. Take that as a big FWIW but it does make some sense. I wouldn't be looking to accommodate the guy either if he essentially forces a trade.

If it does somehow end up happening though…

Seriously though Gregory and Collins were two of my favorite players before the draft. I didn't think we would have a shot at either. The fact that we were able to get both guys is pretty god damn amazing. Collins is an absolute beast as a RB. I mean he makes heads roll in the running game. This is going to be one really impressive rookie class in Dallas.

The Vikings would take the best offer regardless. I don't believe the Vikings would sacrifice their teams potential for success just to stick it to Peterson.

We got a better tackle in UDFA than the Redskins did with the 5th pick of the draft.

Probably not. Dallas would probably have to go way above and beyond what any other team offers though. They might be a little more willing to sacrifice future draft picks now though with how this offseason has gone + the comp picks they'll receive next season.

I still wouldn't touch a first or second round pick for Peterson. The only way we would get him is if the Vikings get desperate because Peterson is refusing to play or something.

I think the Vikings want to hang on to Petersen. All reports I have heard about indicates the organization, staff and team wants him there.

So the next time there's a franchise level QB available at the top of the draft, have we secured the talent on this team so that it's reasonable to trade up for one? We've established a team for the future now, looking into post Romo is a must.

I could see him being dealt midseason if the Vikings aren't doing well but that's about it.
