Johnson is not my 1st choice but I think he would be a good pick at 27.

He kind of reminds me of Scandrick and it allows us to move on from Carr and seamlessly this offseason.

I think Malcom Brown and Kendricks are my top realistic choices at that spot.

I don't see anything special about him but I also think he will be a good solid corner in the NFL.

I'll be happy if we end up with one of these guys tonight, barring a trade. Obviously, not all will be there. But each could possibly make it to our spot. I didn't name guys like Leonard Williams because I'm trying to remain at least a little realistic. In no particular order...

Shane Ray
Randy Gregory
Melvin Gordon
Malcom Brown
Bud Dupree
Todd Gurley

Get one of those guys, I am very happy with our first round. These next guys, I would like. Just not as much as the first group.

Danny Shelton
Eddie Goldman
Marcus Peters
Kevin Johnson
Owamagbe Odighizuwa

But honestly, even if we don't end up with one of these guys, I'll be disappointed. But not upset. As long as we don't do something stupid. I'd prefer no trade up. A trade down into the top of the 2nd would be fine, depending on who was on the board and what we got in return, of course.

I don't see Danny Shelton as a realistic option as he should go much sooner. If we did have a chance at him, I jump at it.

I'm fine with any of those players.

Cris Carter suggests an Adrian Peterson trade is coming

Posted by Michael David Smith on April 30, 2015, 12:17 PM EDT

The Vikings continue to insist that Adrian Peterson will not be traded. Not everyone believes them.

Cris Carter, the Hall of Fame former Vikings receiver who now works as an ESPN commentator, suggested today on Mike & Mike that he has been given inside information about a Peterson trade.

“I’m under gag order on the Adrian Peterson situation, but I believe something’s gonna happen,” Carter said. “But I can’t talk about it.”

It’s a bit odd that Carter would choose to talk about something that he “can’t talk about” because he’s “under gag order,” but that’s what Carter said, and Carter presumably still has some relationships with people in Minnesota. Which suggests that it’s possible Carter knows that privately, the Vikings are more open to trading Peterson than they’re indicating publicly.

Still, this sounds like a long shot. The Vikings reportedly want a huge bounty if they’re going to part with Peterson, and there have been no reports of another team stepping to the plate with that kind of deal. Carter is in a minority in thinking anything is going to happen other than Peterson staying in Minnesota.

No trade ups, MFer. If he's still there, take him. If not, move on to the next guy.
I was kidding...

Saints plan to draft a quarterback high in 2015

By Gregg Rosenthal
Around The NFL Editor

New Orleans Saints fans probably don't want to think about it, but the team has to start thinking about life after Drew Brees.

"They believe they can see the finish line here," NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported on NFL Gameday Morning. "My expectation from talking to several sources involved in the situation is that the Saints will draft a quarterback highly this year.

"In fact, they wish they had done this in previous years, mainly because, as you mentioned, Drew Brees is 35 years old, he's not as big as Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, and they've seen some arm strength issues that have cropped up in the last several games, throwing crucial interceptions -- the kind which we never see from Drew Brees. They're starting to wonder what is next at this position."

(We wonder if Sean Payton "wished" he took Jimmy Garoppolo, who went to Payton's alma matter, Eastern Illinois.)

If you just consider the nuts and bolts of this report, it makes a lot of sense. The Broncos drafted Brock Osweiler in the second round as an insurance policy to Peyton Manning. The Patriots have drafted Ryan Mallett and Garoppolo in recent years just in case.

In practice, this plan could be tricky. Drafting a backup for a legendary franchise player is always problematic, and Brees is beloved in New Orleans. While the Saints have struggled to dial up big plays this season, Brees has still moved the ball well. He's just paid big for his mistakes.

Also worth noting, as NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah points out: This might not be the easiest draft in which to find a quarterback.

So the Viqueens draft Gurley... WWTehJJD
A good GM would low-ball them since they have no use for AP anymore, but...
Ol' JJ might go into panic mode feeling now they are open to all and offer...?
