Does Chicago want to trade Jay Cutler for the second overall pick?
Posted: 04/06/2015, 12:08pm | Kyle Thele, Digital Editorial at Sun Times Network

The Titans and Jay Cutler have been connected all offseason. Since the Bears quarterback was benched towards the end of last season talks of Cutler being traded to the Titans have been kicked around. Now, there is a new rumor of a trade and it involves the Titans first round pick.

According to a video from Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole, some members of the Bears organization are very interested in Marcus Mariota. Not believing he will fall to Chicago’s 7th pick, Cole reports the team is interested in a trade with Tennessee. In return, the Titans would likely get Cutler and the Bears pick.

It should also be noted that Cole’s report that Bears coach John Fox was brought in to “fix” Cutler is generally agreed upon to not be true.

2nd overall pick for Cutler???

If I were a Titans fan I would be pissed.

Why would the Titans want to trade the 2nd overall pick for Cutler? Just because he played at Vanderbilt won't change the fact that he's a turnover machine who can't win games.

The Bears basically don't even want Cutler anymore.

I read somewhere that the Bears would actually have to package Cutler with some picks to get out from under his contract.

I'd give them a 7th and try not to choke on his stupid contract.

I would assume it means the two teams would swap firsts for Cutler. The drunkest Vanderbilt homer on earth wouldn't joke about trading the second highest pick in the draft for an injury prone, 31 year old who hasn't ever lived up to his draft status.

I've heard that as well, I think it's a slight overstatement, but I think compensation for him is going to be in the very late picks range because of that deal. That said, if I'm a team with a lot of cap room and no QB I take him. Sure, he's basically the modern Jeff George, but that's better than nothing.
