Hey, is there anyone on this board who has had to deal with TDLR (Texas Department of Licensing Regulation) or any other professional licensing? I've been trying to figure out how to get my Maintenance Electrician's license for a few months and have been mostly spinning my wheels. There doesn't seem to be an intuitive start point to the application/examination process.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

My wife just got her nurses license in OK. It took a long time and was pretty much impossible to get any information out of the board. Its probably not what you want to hear, but the whole thing sucked.

My friend's mom tried to get her teaching license transferred from Missouri to Oklahoma, and they wouldn't until she had a school willing to sponsor her application. This is a lady with 30 years experience and a Master's degree in education and they wouldn't even talk to her.

Yeah it seems like this is the kind of thing where it pays to know a guy on the inside.

The website should have approved training facilities, no? I'd start there and keep asking questions until you find the path of least resistance.

I got my EPA cert at a course taught at a HVAC supply house so I could get freon and work on my ac myself some years back. Might call an electrical supply and ask.
