Kevin Johnson's highlight tapes on youtube are about as exciting as Boozeman's nursing home bingo games
At a position that comprises 1/11th of the starters, we will have used 4 first rounders on the position since 2003. That's 4/12.
Twice as often as average for a position that should get half as many first rounders.
You have 22 starters. I'm guessing maybe he is assuming we use a first on a corner this year and that's where he is getting 4?I'm only counting 3, unless I'm missing one. But even so, wouldn't that be 2/11ths? There are two cornerback positions on the defense. Or if we're honest with ourselves, 3/11ths since the slot corner plays pretty much every snap.
It's weird how actual real live NFL guys place such importance on the CB position. And strangely enough, ones that don't even work for the Cowboys. In fact, a guy you have advocated hiring here absolutely LOVES him some cornerbacks. Somebody should forward those guys a link to this board so they could figure that shit out.
Yeah, just a little bit. He's only considering the 11 starters on defense. And even then, not including that there are more than one starting corners on defense. But since we actually are allowed to use first rounders on the other side of the ball (which we have quite often) it lessens the shock value of his attempt if they're included. All in all, a pretty sad attempt. It's fair to say he is manipulating the numbers a little to back up his argument.
Two top ten CBs since 2003. Only the Browns have accomplished that.Yeah, we love taking corners high in the draft.
Not only that but only a late draft pick or UDFA should be the targets. I mean Lance Frazier worked out so well.I'm only counting 3, unless I'm missing one. But even so, wouldn't that be 2/11ths? There are two cornerback positions on the defense. Or if we're honest with ourselves, 3/11ths since the slot corner plays pretty much every snap.

Oh, noes. Two top ten CBs since 2003. Only the Browns have accomplished that.
No you wouldn't since you are already there.Hell no. I know all of these mocks are average but 2 CBs in the first 4 rounds? I would go apeshit.
Same here.Byron Jones scares me a bit, even though he is incredibly athletic.
Wow.No you wouldn't since you are already there.
Not too long ago, the same thing was said about our OL evaluationsExactly. We know OL, but can't figure DB for shit.
Parcells seemed specifically to suck hard at OL evaluation. Always picking undersized, injury prone, white kids. Not too long ago, the same thing was said about our OL evaluations
Recently, not as much. But most of us have been around long enough to remember:Yeah, we love taking corners high in the draft.
