So what?

I doubt we were getting our hands on a rusher close to Hardy where we pick, nor would they be ready to contribute regardless.

This was a move intended to win games while you also address the future.

We would have had to have even more out of this draft had we not got him.

BTW, this does make a CB in the first round pretty much a sure thing.

How does that make you feel?
It could still be a RB or a LB!!!!

I fully expect us to take the top RB with our 1st. Hopefully we beef up at defensive tackle with 2 or 3

You can go either or.

I would take Malcom Brown in the first and Ajayi in the second.

I endorse this. I'm just afraid there will be a run on RBs and Ajayi won't be there for us in the 2nd.

You're not getting Ajayi. You're getting a first round CB, and a 2nd round TE. The sooner you accept that, the easier it will be on draft day.

There will be a decent RB available in the second. That is why I am in no rush to get one in the first.

Ajayi, Yeldon, Johnson...no way all of them go in the first 64 picks.

I am immune to your attack. The Hardy signing has awakened my inner homer.

I actually think our braintrust is too smart now to be doing dumb shit like drafting TE's in the 2nd. A CB in the 1st or 2nd?

Maybe, but I doubt we take any TE's in the first 4 or 5 rounds at least.

After the third blown pick on a second round TE, I think Jerry will finally put his foot down now.

Jerry Jones Gives Official Statement On Signing Greg Hardy

Wednesday, March 18, 2015 6:04 PM CDT

By DallasCowboys.com Report

In a statement from Jerry Jones:

"This agreement involved an important element of our defensive scheme, specifically the pass rush, at a position that we felt we needed to address this off season. We entered this free agency period with the idea of utilizing key resources to help us on the defensive side of the ball.

"Greg is a proven and experienced player whose production has allowed him to play at a Pro Bowl level. This is a one-year agreement that is incentive based and heavily weighted toward his participation in games.

"We have spent a great deal of time over the last two days in meeting with Greg directly and gaining a solid understanding of what he is all about as a person and as a football player. A thorough background review of him, involving many elements of our organization, has been ongoing for the last few weeks.

"Obviously a great deal of our study was dedicated to the issue of domestic violence, and the recent events that associated Greg with that issue. We know that Greg’s status remains under review by the National Football League.

"Our organization understands the very serious nature of domestic violence in our society and in our league. We know that Greg has a firm understanding of those issues as well."

(Hardy + First round corner) > (First round DE)

Just saying
Yeah. Bringing in McFadden tells me the organization doesn't plan top go for a RB in the early rounds. They have four on the roster now and it would seem that they wouldn't go into the draft with a high priority toward a RB. I think they will eventual take one if they think he is better than the ones on the roster but again I don't think it's a big deal for them.

Then they are stupid and learned zero from last year.

Why would we have dead money because of a 1 year deal?
I'm using dead money for lack of a better term.

But if he's only counting 2.5 mil against the 2015 cap, that incentive money has to get charged at some point.

Let's assume he earns the majority of his incentives, and total earningsreach 9.5 mil. He's charged 2.5 against 2015 cap. That means we are charged 7 mil against 2016 cap for performance from the previous year. That doesn't seem like a good idea.

Maybe I am missing something, but that cap charge has to show up somewhere.
