We kinda had a magic year. I frankly doubt we will be as good next year even with the infallible Scott Linehan. Too many personnel losses at this point and not enough upgrades on defense to cover what was surely some smoke and mirrors that is going to eventually stop working on defense.

But this kind of offseason is necessary when you've spent like drunken sailors in the past. We don't have any money. Every other team has more money available than us. Not sure what is to be done about that fact except stop spending ... Which is what we're doing. If we can have another strong draft that is what will make this a successful or unsuccessful offseason, really. The rest is window dressing.
Booty. hurt.

This is a fucking disaster.

I don't give a shit about Murray, but you have to try to improve the defense.

I think the only reason this board hasn't gone nuclear yet is the slight chance of signing Greg Hardy.

Bet he goes to the Patriots on a team friendly deal because Belichick just doesn't give a fuck.

A good draft can cure all these ills. I'm not pissed unless we draft a TE, CB or a special teams player in the first four picks.

Washington really helped themselves in free agency. Their total lack of good QB'ing makes it hard to see as a threat, though.

Dallas needs to grow with small free agents and developing their own draft choices. It's how Garrett coaches.

Yeah, when Hardy goes elsewhere, the FAIL will be utterly complete.

Lookit, I didn't expect Dallas to sign a ton of guys. Even Goof Son gave a foreshadowing.

But I did expect something to ensure that we carried the momentum from last season forward or better yet, address the defense.

We have done neither.

There is only so much that avoiding overpaying Murray can excuse a complete fuck up otherwise.

We signed Free to keep the OL intact. That is about the only positive we have done this offseason.

Wait, so after a year coaching for his contract, we know what Garrett does consistently?

Okay then.

Where are all these "development" success stories he has since he has been here? I must have missed them.

Well, he (and by "he" I mean the entire coaching staff as a unit) hasn't succeeded any other ways. I really think a bunch of young players bought into whatever it is the Cowboys had going last year. Coaching had to have played a part in that.

Romo and Witten had been on board from the beginning, but I think the average veteran, like Melton and Carr, is less receptive to Garrett's approach. Of course busts like Escobar and Claiborne have a hard time buying into anything, but the other youngsters Dez, Leary, Fitz, Zach, Tyron, Wilcox, Lawrence, Hitchens, Crawford, Williams, and Murray, bought into it fully.

There is no kinda about it. Just look back game to game, it was a little bit of luck early, then confidence set in.

Right now, what made this team good, the running attack, is not sound. Sorry, don't buy the anybody can do it thing. Murray did have something to do with that.

And our defense is even shittier now and will need at least three starters out of the draft, which is next to a miracle.
Wait what?

Now you are just making shit up to be all doom and gloom about.

Its not that farfetched if you want an improved defense. You could make a case for DE, DT, LBs, FS. I dont buy the RB doom and gloom thats going around here but Im sure concerned with the defense.

It is farfetched he said we will need 3 starters on D from the draft, what 3 spots on D need a starter from the draft?

The only spot that does not have an incumbent is LB so yeah it is very farfetched.

I don't buy any of the doom and gloom because the offseason just began would I be happy heading into the season with this group no, but I also realize there is a long way to go between now and training camp.

He said to improve and you bring the dline back and its the same or worse. I dont trust Mincey at all. Selvie did the same thing the year before and came back to earth. You could replace Hayden as well. There is 2 right there without much thought. LBer and Safety could be addressed and so its not that farfetched.

You should buy the RB gloom and doom. Not a damn one of our current runners has any business touching the ball more than 5-10 times in a game.

Perfect, each of them can touch the ball 10 times a game. I think you may have just unlocked the secret to our success next year! :buddy

Never believed we would have signed Murray to begin with so just feel like it will be handled in the draft. Gordon, Ayaji, Cobb should do just fine behind this line and the dedication to the run they have shown.
