It's a politician babbling. I fear the current President more for some of the positions he is taking but at the same time there are checks and balances. As long as it is just bluster I don't get too worked up.
In this case it's not a politician, it's a senator. In the way a Supreme Court Justice is not just a lawyer. We're talking about one of the most powerful members of the reigning political party making jokes about deploying troops against its own lawmakers. That's too screwed up to say carelessly, and too common place to be considered absurd. Even a joke tests the waters. General McChrystal was dismissed for much less, simply because he jokingly underminded the authority of the president. If he were to have joked about taking troops into DC to seize control of the government, he would probably be sitting in Ft. Leavenworth right now.

If something like what you describe begins to take feet then I will engage the comeaparts. In the mean time as far as i am concerned its just the ego of a blustering high ranking politician flapping his gums because that's what they spend their time doing.

I believe that it's exactly a politician flapping his gums. I suspect there's no revolutionary intention whatsoever. I think the bluster and ego of the high rank led a man to say something stupid. The problem is that stupid thing is exactly what a person of that rank can't say. If some Joe Nobody made the same comment, I wouldn't care.
With Gen. McChrystal, he made a couple of wise cracks about the president. He was the head of operations in Afghanistan, and let his position and rank make him believe he was untouchable. He jokingly said some things about his civilian superiors, and by doing it unintentionally challenged the authority of the civilian government over the military. Because of that it was necessary for him to resign. I think it's a similar situation and should have a similar outcome.

Doubt it if you will but politicians are always in a pissing contest with the " loyal opposition". Just for the record i' ll bet you i havent said 5 sentences total about Obama on anything.
So four more times besides your response to me? Good job I guess. The point was if any democrat had said that you'd be singing a different tune.

Nice work there, Lindsey. You just eliminated yourself from consideration just by openly displaying a blatant ignorance to our Constitution.
1. He isn't running for President
2. He wasn't serious.
3. Obama has already displayed a blatant ignorance / disrespect for Constitution.

Don't fucking play Republican vs. Democrat crossfire bullshit.
Obama never threatened the government with its own military. If he did he should and would be impeached and imprisoned. Graham is a former Air Force colonel of prominent political figure the kind of figure who could theoretically divide military loyalties. When you are figure that prominent don't joke about military coups. Just like you don't joke about an assassination, and you don't joke about rounding up and exterminating gypsies.

But you said what's his name. :art I doubt I would have taken it serious regardless of who said it because it is just hard for me to treat this type of ego blistering serious.

No he's just spent the last 6 years systematically weakening it.

In what way the 600 BILLION dollars allocated to a military that hasn't seen war on its own soil in 150 years (when we fought ourselves) possibly inadequate?

I never voted for Obama. Never would. In 2012 I voted for Gary Johnson because I'd rather support a no chance candidate than be complicit in the two party system. That being said if Obama cut the defense by 50% tomorrow, I'd buy a bust of him and jizz on it every evening before I say my prayers. What the fuck is a "weakened" US military? Is it a Defense budget that's only the value of the next 35 highest defense budgets combined? Is it using drones to blow up 5,000 random brown people instead of 10,000? Is it only pointlessly invading and occupying one country at a time? Is it feeding instant oatmeal into a terrorist's asshole instead of steel cut?
