Report: Adrian Peterson requests trade to Dallas Cowboys
Jeffrey Kahn - 12 hours ago
According to a report on Bleacher Report from NFL Insider Jason Cole, Peterson has told the Vikings that he wants to play for the Cowboys:
"Adrian Peterson wants to go to Dallas. The Minnesota Vikings are aware of that. In talking to a high-level NFL executive, everybody knows what everybody wants.
However, the Vikings are not willing to let their star go, via Cole:
"The Vikings will not, do not want to trade him, in any way shape or form, specifically not to the Cowboys. Don't expect that to happen, at least from their end. There's a lot here to play out, but the Vikings do not want to send him to the Cowboys."
It was recently reported that Peterson was "uneasy" about a return to the Vikings. That began the speculation of Peterson heading to Dallas.
Back in Aug. 2014, reports came out that Peterson told Cowboys owner Jerry Jones he wants to play for the 'Boys. It seems like Peterson has been trying to make this happen for quite some time.
On the Cowboys end, running back DeMarco Murray is set to become an unrestricted free agent on March 10. Head coach Jason Garrett has recently said that he values Murray and wants him back in 2015. In a report from Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News, Jones wants Murray with the Cowboys for his entire career.
Signs are pointing to the Cowboys re-signing Murray. As of now, it seems unlikely that Peterson will dawn a Cowboys uniform in 2015, but the offseason is always full of surprises.
