It's a gamble because while it's great to get a top ten pick for him, we still have to replace him. I'm definitely waryof good players on bad teams, but there's a lot to like about MCW. He can get to the basket, he has good size, he rebounds well.

I'm guessing they didn't like his shooting and/or his turnovers. Hinke likes efficiency.
So let's say we end up with Mudiay, Grant, and Dekker in the first...and Embiid comes back while Saric comes over from Europe...that could be special.

OK...so after the trades yesterday, Philly could possibly have 4 first rounders...so let's play pretend for a minute.

3 D'Angelo Russell, PG
6 Mario Hezonja, SG/SF
15 Jerian Grant, PG
19 Frank Kaminsky, C

Now you add those players to Embiid, Noel, and Saric...and that is a nice bit of talent. All young, but a bunch of young guys...not all will stay, but maybe once they show something they can be flipped for the right vet needed to make that move. Kind of like Houston did when they got Harden.

Sixers Likely To Claim Thomas Robinson

February 24 at 3:27pm CST By Chuck Myron

The Sixers are likely to claim Thomas Robinson off waivers from the Nuggets, spoiling Brooklyn’s deal to sign him, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports (Twitter link). That’d be a boon to Denver, which would have his entire salary of more than $3.678MM wiped from its cap, rather than simply the amount that Robinson agreed to relinquish in their buyout deal. It would also send the Sixers over the $56.759MM minimum team salary, meaning they wouldn’t have to pay their existing players the difference between their team salary and the minimum. Philadelphia would have to waive a player to make the claim, since it has a full 15-man roster, though Tim Frazier is on a 10-day contract. The deadline to submit a claim is 4pm Central time.

Derrick Rose out with meniscus tear just reported on NBA TV.
They were saying this one caught everyone by surprise. Sounds as if they thought it was just a little soreness but further testing showed the tear.

The medical expert that ESPN has on SC said since this is a re-injury of a repaired meniscus that the surgeons would probably completely remove the meniscus this time around. In that case he's looking at about a 6 week period of recovery. However knowing Rose, he'll sit out the rest of the year regardless.

Just put that dude out to pasture and move on.

The Bulls are never going to win a championship if they keep trying to build their team around a guy who can't stay healthy nor does everything he can to get back and stay on the court.

This guy milks every injury he suffers, so don't expect to see him back till next year.

Yeah, I certainly don't expect him to push himself to get back early even if the experts throw out a 6-week recovery timeline.

However, this time around I wouldn't blame him for taking the safe route. We're talking about a third major knee injury in 3 years. I'd be overly cautious as well if I tore me knee up 3 times.

But I agree with you regarding the Bulls needing to move on from the idea that Rose is a player you can build a franchise around. If they have the chance to grab another good-great PG they should do it. Because you just don't know if you can depend on Rose in the long run.

I always say availability is just as important as ability. Doesn't matter how talented you are, if you can't stay on the court/field, I don't want you on my team. I'm looking at you as well, Sean Lee.

Rondo got benched last night after having words with Carlisle. Curious as to what that was all about. Anyone heard anything?

Carlisle called for a play and Rondo completely ignored it.

I think it's safe to say this experiment is not going to end with success.

I loved Carlisle's response. Benching Rondo ass for the rest of the game was the right thing to do.

Oh yea, Carlisle is a no-nonsense type of guy.

Hopefully they can work this out, but if not, it's not a big deal. We weren't winning a championship with or without Rondo, so it was a low risk move with no real consequences.

I actually think this will help Chicago this year, they will be able to get everyone in sync and will not have to worry about trying to get Rose back to his old self.

His chucking was hurting the team this year.

And, he's now suspended him for a game for conduct detrimental to the team. Carlisle doesn't fuck around, man.

I think the word stint is telling in that quote.
