That wasnt the point. Being on a job for a long time doesn't define a persons abilities good or bad. LeBeau is an example of a person that stayed on a job for years without being promoted but he was apparently well regarded. Angry guy used Wilson longivity as a position caoch for a long time as a bad connotation. I used LeBeu as not necessarly so.
And you are wrong.

LeBeau was a ST coach and LB coach for eleven years and he got a coordinator gig.

Wilson has been a position coach since 2000. That is a span of fourteen years at the same position with zero progression beyond "QB coach".

You would have to try very hard to find another position coach in the NFL who has been that sedentary.

And beyond the small circle with Jones, Davis, Norv Turner's brother, who holds Wade Wilson in high regard?

There is a reason why he is never a threat to move. He's like a fixture because he is not in demand.

Meanwhile you have little 30 year old snotnose kids spending a couple of years as a QB coach and then getting an OC gig.

Again, huge difference between a coordinator and a position coach. Only thing Lebeau could be elevated to is HC...which he actually was before. So it was a poor comparison.
Again that wasnt the point.

That wasnt the point. I used him as a positive example of not judging someone because of being on the job for a long time. You are over reacting.

It was...that is why he mentioned not being considered as OC. Not sure how you are not getting this. Oh well, you've made your point in this thread. What it is, no idea, but that works too.

No, I am making a simple statement that you made a comparison that frankly was not even relevant.

He wasn't on the same job for a long time. LeBeau moved. He progressed. He went from ST coach to LB and finally a coordinator.

Wilson has never once to my knowledge got even so much as a stiff sniff by anyone, anywhere to do more than what he does.

He's never moved from "QB coach".

Either the guy has zero ambition or he quite honestly is a coach that nobody is really interested in. He's a lifer and he's a lifer only where Jerry Jones, Norv Turner or someone who "knew" him from his stint with the Cowboys would be willing to pay him.

The point is akin to "wait and see". Except now it is "we don't know, nobody knows, so...".

So I guess when you combine the two philosophies, and Wilson's coaching career is over and he has done exactly zero, he might acknowledge the fact that all those guesses might have been right.

If you see Dick's carrer he was in ascension all the way to his HC gig with Cinncy, allthrough his "prime" years. It is only in the latter stages of his carrerthat he became "sedentary" as Pitt DC.

Wilson hasn't gone anywhere in his prime years, heck I can't even remember him interviewing for a better gig, if he's cut tomorrow his best option would probably be coaching highschool and I'm not sure he'd get the HC job...

One guy I'd throw the Offensive QC job at is Kitna. He knows the system and he's been getting lower level experience coaching HS

I like that idea. I always felt he was underrated.

Speaking of Kitna, heard on the radio this morning he's moving to Waxahachie to coach H.S. Football there.

I heard that as well. Not a bad move being just south of Dallas when his boy Garrett just got a 5 year deal.
