I think a lot of our team's struggles with the scheme's coverage can be laid at the feet of having a DB coach from a man-coverage background.

We should have just hired Ron Meeks or someone else with DC experience in the scheme (there were a few available).
I have no idea if Henderson is a good DB coach or not but he was highly respected before he got here and its his arrival that coincided with Scandrick going from a huge target to where he is now, what he got out of our second year safety is also a huge plus concidering the guy now has 3 total year playing the position.

I don't think he has been some huge liability and this secondary was on the uptick down the stretch its not like he had some supremely talented guys out there.

The secondary has been a weak link for a long time. He did well with Wilcox, but IMO he regressed down the stretch. There was talent there too...when you have Carr, Scandrick, and Claiborne that is not a bad start.

If we can credit Wilson with Romo's development, then I'd say that's good.
Wilson has been around Romo a good while.

Yet he "develops" at this stage in his career, coinciding with a run game and Linehan? :lol

Wilson has done jack and shit to further Romo along.

Unless you count Orton, Wade Wilson hasn't developed any QB in the league of note. In 15 years. That's my complaint
Correct. He's pitching a Blutarski, from Oakland to Chicago to Dallas.

Romo was pretty good before this year.

I think the philosophy of running the ball more, emphasizing Romo less, has made him a better QB. I don't know what Wilson has done, I know Linehan has changed the offensive culture of the team and QB though.

Maybe true, but if we assume the Romo of today is a product of all his years as a starter, then how can you exclude
Wilson? As much as I think he's a douche. Romo has had a solid if not strong career. Where do we apply credit?

How would you know that? There has been some changes in his play.

I thought Payton and Lee where responsible for Romo's formative years.

That's true especially the part where we don't know what has been done by Wilson.

So then why defend him if you can't point to one thing he has actually accomplished?

I wasnt defending him. I was wondering why some are bashing him for no apparent reason. No one can definitively stated why the think he is a bad position coach.

Yes, especially circa 2006 when he became a starter. But then we added Wade to the mix, so there's really both.
There's also some Garrett in there as well.

Wilson left in 2002, Romo arrived in 2003, started in 2006 and Wilson came back in 2007...
For what it's worth.

Romo credits David Lee a great deal for his early development.
May well be. I guess the question is has Wilson been bad for him since he has been around for the pazt 7 years?

Wasn't it Wilson's bright idea to try to transform Tony into Brady part deaux?
