Cowboys Now With Seven Pro Bowlers As Veteran Long Snapper Ladouceur Added

Not only are the Cowboys having their entire coaching staff at the Pro Bowl next week, but there will be a healthy number of players as well.

Initially with six players selected, the Cowboys will now have at least seven after long snapper L.P. Ladouceur was a late addition. The 10-year veteran will make his first trip to the Pro Bowl. He was added as a “need” player, selected by Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. Ladouceur will play for the Baltimore-coached squad.

The third-longest tenured player on the Cowboys’ roster, Ladouceur signed with the Cowboys early in the 2005 regular-season when then-head coach Bill Parcells needed to make a change with his long snapper. With the Cowboys already staying the entire week in the Bay Area between road games with the 49ers and Raiders, they called upon the former Cal-Berkley product for a workout. Ladouceur not only was impressive in his brief workout, but he hasn’t had an errant snap in his 10-year career.

And now, he will be rewarded. Ladouceur will join six teammates – Dez Bryant, DeMarco Murray, Tony Romo, Zack Martin, Tyron Smith and Travis Frederick.

The Cowboys do have other players selected as Pro Bowl alternates and could be added as well, depending on the teams that advance to the Super Bowl. Players from the conference championship winning squads will not play in the Pro Bowl, which takes place Sunday, Jan. 24 in Phoenix.

Good for Ladouceur. We've had really good luck with long snappers save a year or two. I can't remember the last time Ladouceur had a bad snap

Yep, we had issues there for a couple of years before it came down to Ladouceur and Jon Condo, who is still in the league as well. Ladouceur has been rock solid, he deserves this.

Ladouceur is probably the player on the team who is the best at his job. Honestly can't remember the last time he's had a bad snap. Before the tail end of the season, I would have said Bailey. Hopefully those misses don't get into his head, seen way too mae.ny kickers go from very good to inconsistent in the blink of an eye.
