Murray turns down 4 year 16 million dollar offer?

We had to have a starting point. I'd certainly like him back, but I am curious what dollar figure he has in mind. I think Forte got 5/25 and that seems fair at this point.
A 5 year deal that is really a 3 year deal might work.

If he turned down 4 mill a year, then I'm guessing just 1 mill a year more isn't going to cut it either.

My guess is that he wants no less than 6 mill a season.

I think a team like Atlanta makes quite a bit of sense for him. They'd be scary offensively with him.

It would be a good fit, but I think Bipo is right about the Colts.

They need a running game badly, and they have an elite QB and a team with younger weapons on it than Atlanta. Hilton, Fleener and Allen are going to pieces of that offense for a long time, whereas Julio Jones is the only guy in Atlanta that is going to be there 2 years from now.

Plus, I like Luck much more than Ryan and I think he'd have a better chance of getting to a SB there than Atlanta.

I think either team can do wonders for him, but I'm getting the feeling that he's going where the money is. It'll probably be Jacksonville or Minnesota.

It's very possible that he chases the money, but he seems like a competitor to me. That's one of the things I liked most about him was his nastiness and desire to win.

Money goes a long way, I know.....but I can't see him going to JAX after enjoying the success he did here this season.

He can if Jax says they want him to be their guy in crunch time. Just point out how Dallas routinely got away from him in previous years and how Luck and Ryan would do the same. Play to his ego and throw the bucks at him.

Is there any validation that an offer has actually been made?

I haven't seen anything recently. The offer in the article above has been on the table for a while now.

So he thought he was worth more than $4M/yr when he was still a fragile, above average player. His demands now are going to be huge. Good luck, buddy.

I wouldn't blame him for chasing money.

He's a RB. Position value is way down these days. He just had a huge workload. This is his only chance to hit the lottery and sit on his ass from his 30's on.

I don't think anyone here would blame him.

I also won't blame the team for setting a price. Paying out the ass for every guy once they have a good year has to stop. We did it with Barber and Austin...no more.

If I were them I would stick to the 4 mill per, and let him test the market if he doesn't like that price.

Yeah and after he broke Emmitt's single season record and after his performance was instrumental in the Cowboys success this season. How dare he.
