All this bullshit about the bad calls in the Lions game has the same root as the contrived "Romo sucks" opinions from past years, and that root is dumbass fans who don't know dick about football and form their opinions based off Stephen A. Smith's HOT TAKES.

Look, we could lose this game. The Packers are good, Aaron Rogers is fucking Superman. But I still believe that
this team can pull this game off. They have that perfect road record for a reason, and nothing Aaron Rogers says or does
diminishes what Romo, Murray, Bryant and co have done. Not one fucking bit.

So, as Michael says...3 more rounds...finishthismofo....

That's actually interesting. The common denominator for three of those teams is strong defense.

So how the hell did new Orleans beat them?
But also, the Seahawks game was the first of the season, when they had issues on defense. So it wasn't the same unit as now where the Seahawks D is like number 1. Recall how we pounded, sliced and diced our through them with Murray.

Fans from teams all around are complaining about the calls against Detroit.
I don't know about that, most of the posts on the other forums I goto have been saying there were bad calls on both sides. Even the Cowboys haters over at Walterfootball have been saying this has been blown out of proportion. If anything most of what I see is criticizing Caldwell for not going for it on 4th and 1

Well I follow quite a bit of Dallas sportswriters as well as ESPN and NFL on FB and I see nothing but memes from people backing up various teams.

But the Packers were having issues then too.

As an aside, the Packers defense is way better than ours. As much as anything, that may be the difference.

I thought they had a bad rush defense? Pass D I can see being way better
The two defenses are almost identical in terms of points and yards allowed per game, our run defense is ranked 8th, theirs is 23rd, our pass defense is ranked 26th, theirs is 10th.

The rest of the defensive stats are pretty much identical except for sacks, they have 41, we have 28, which is to be expected really.

No. I am so sick of the ref whining this whole week, I can't take it again.
If we win, IDGAF if it takes a call of Fail Mary proportions to do so. But after all the outrage over the Lions game, and with the Packers at home, I don't see us getting the benefit of the calls this week.

Takeaways? Very key.

The NFL laid it on thick...not sure why they felt the need to point out there was holding on the 4th and 6 play. Point all the missed calls out or none at all.
The NFL said that 7 of the 10 calls we turned in should have gone our way and not theirs. How many of those did you hear about?

Don't look for Cowboys to blitz Aaron Rodgers
January, 9, 2015

By Todd Archer | ESPNDallas.com

IRVING, Texas – The Detroit Lions were criticized after their Week 17 loss to the Green Bay Packers for not blitzing quarterback Aaron Rodgers after he aggravated a calf injury.

Don’t look for the Dallas Cowboys to do that either when they play the Packers in the divisional round Sunday at Lambeau Field.

It’s not in their DNA.

According to ESPN Stats & Information, the Cowboys brought pressure just 23.7 percent of the time during the season. Only seven teams brought extra rushers less than the Cowboys.

And blitzing Rodgers has not been a good strategy. Since 2008, he has 91 touchdown passes and 18 interceptions against the blitz. He was sacked 28 times, a low for when he has played a full season. Teams only blitzed the Packers 26.4 percent of the time, and only four offenses faced fewer blitzes.

“We have to do what we do,” coach Jason Garrett said. “We have to do that on defense, we have to do that on offense and in the kicking game – we have to be who we are. That’s a really, really important thing for our football team. I think the best teams in all of sports do that. Having said that, [Rodgers' injury) is a factor in the game. He is an awfully good football player, and if he plays in the gam,e he’ll challenge us in a lot of different ways.”

The Cowboys don’t doubt he will play. They don’t doubt his calf will be hurt. They just don’t care if he is hurt or not.

“He doesn’t have a hurt arm, so it doesn’t matter,” defensive end Jeremy Mincey said. “He’s a tough player. He’s a fierce competitor. I know he’s going to come to play and we look forward to the challenge.”

The Cowboys’ four-man pass rush has improved lately. They have 12 sacks in the last four games, which is their best four-game total of the season.

“We’re going to stick to our guns, man,” Mincey said. “We’ll just keep him in the pocket and keep some pressure on him. We just got to execute the game plan the way coach has it dialed up.”

I lifted some chat content from greenbaypressgazette.com -packers-chat-robert-zizzo

Comment From Jesse

Robert, Loyal Packers fan from the DFW area here… I understand Aaron needing to rest up the calf and I have all the faith in him to get us the win Sunday. Listening to the teams comments, they’re not worried about the rest affecting their timing…but how do we explain what happen in Buffalo? It looked like him and the receivers weren't in sync for that game…..I’d just hate for this to happen again..

Robert Zizzo

I think the Buffalo game had as much to do with Buffalo's defensive front four as it did with timing. The Bills, unlike a lot of teams, were able to get ample pressure rushing only four, allowing them to cover with 11. Most teams aren't that effective and have to blitz to get pressure. Dallas will be forced to blitz, which normally plays into Aaron Rodgers' game, which is to scramble and extend plays. But on Sunday, it could be troublesome for a less-mobile Rodgers.
