I wonder how many of the current starting QBs were drafted inthe first 3 rounds?
Or if they were drafted later than the 3rd round, how many are playing for the team that drafted them or somehow got their chance because their starter broke?

It wouldnt matter who they are playing for now i just wondered how the mix was for starters as top 3 or how many went lower. It would probably be surprising but my guess is the majority were 4th or lower.

So almost all the starting QBs come from the first or second round, and an even high percentage from the first three rounds.

Take notes Jerry.

That might be true but that wasnt a survey of all the teams. There iz a possibility the teams that were not listed would yield the same results however. I am just too lazy to research it.

That looks like all teams to me.

It's not all accurate though. Dolphins for example should say first round. Titans on the other hand shouldn't since there real starter is Mettenberger at this point.
I don't know that Mettenberger is a guy they are going to be depending on going forward. Their starter could be a first round pick by 2015.

Just depends on if they draft a guy in the first round of the up coming draft. Personally I wouldn't if I were them. I think Mettenberger has just as much potential to develop as any QBs that will be available to them in the draft. Mettenberger however did pass their current first round draft pick on the depth chart in Jake Locker.

Corrected the Miami entry. Locker is hurt and Mettenberger isn't their real solution.

Bottom line those mid rounder QBs are shots in the dark. If you value mid-late round draft picks at all don't waste them on QBs.

Wait till the wheels fall off Romo and then draft his replacement in the 1st round. Do this with Romo still starting only if a can't-miss prospect falls to you, otherwise run Romo into the ground first.

Like the Packers with Hilbilly Hamlet and Rodgers.
Exactly. They must not have believed their good fortune when Rodgers fell to them, and Favre's days were numbered.

Even still, kudos to them for keeping a talent like Rodgers on the back burner for as long as they did. Also kudos to Rodgers. That was a rare, rare situation.
