Also don't understand this, I worked at alberston's in high school, minimum wage job, got me through high school. After high school I moved on to bigger and better things. Walmart and McDonald's are not meant to be long term careers. Some are able to make that work, they are the managers and directors, that is their career and it is not minimum wage. My mother in law worked at Sam's Club for 15 years +, no college education, no training after high school. When she left sam's club she was making over $20/hr. Not great, but livable. Took a long time to get there, but it was by no means a bad company to work for. As long as you actually WORK, and not be a shitty employee like most people now days.

If you don't like your job, do something else. Find a better job, become a better employee, become your own boss. Do something about it other than bitch and moan because somebody else has it better than you. They (or in this instance, their families) have worked hard for what they have. Hard to fault them for that.

One of the freedoms to pursue is to be greedy if you want to be. You dont seem to get that part.

I know it is really bad but greed can be so relative. For instance, you may not be rich but you are damn sure wealthy to 50% of the world. Are you willing to take less so other can have more? Do you currently do that now but supporting others? In reality you could definitely live with less in your pocket, change your life some and give away a chunk of your income. Do you do that or are you just pissed at other people for not doing that?

Greed is bad...let me get that out of the way. The thing is though, we earn what we have and have a legal right keep all of it and do what we want. It is called freedom. Another form of greed is to expect other people to give you stuff that you haven't earned.

I believe in giving and charity as well. I think we ALL have a MORAL obligation to give. I just can't support making people participate in that.

And benefits do not last forever and you get no benefits if you are fired with cause, companies go out of there way these days to not have to pay unemployment.

This idea that its easy to get benefits and keep them is way out of touch with reality.

You have a socialistic view of economic structures. That is not the system currently in effect in this country but if folks like you have your way it will become that way.
