Atmosphere has been the reason for rain, you left that out of your equation.
There is an atmoshpere on mars, if I remember my Red Planet book Mars has 5% atmosphere of earth, or the equivilent to 20,000 feet elevation (I probably just made that last number up).

Not water on the surface, and it's a fact there were water-dwelling dinosaurs billions of years ago. Hence water on the surface, hence condensation due to radiation, hence rain. Get out my FACE.
So what you said was false, until you put enough qualifiers in it?

Good to know. Never argue with "science"...

Sure, a guy makes false statements, but science!!!!

But, how does this have any bearing on the conversation that was at hand?

But water existed for a Billion years or so before the first person ever came into existence. So I think Genesis missed the mark on this. Also if there's water, and a sun, there's bound to be an evaporation cycle, that's just physics. That's why you can make it rain in a gym if enough people are sweating.
I feel like I have more than debunked this statement (a little disapointed, I thought iamtdog said it).

nothing generally, I didnt like the appeal to physics on a false statment, and eventually I forgot who said it.

You moved the goalposts is all. Or took too literally what he said.

How did I move the goal posts, the guy said, according to physics, if you had water and a sun you would have to have an evaporation cycle. I said that was a false statement. That has been the extent of my involvement. You replied to me, so you joined my train of thought, and tried to hijack it.

I think I did pretty well, TBH.

What I meant was type of atmosphere and earth had everything needed for rain.

I agree that statement was not entirely accurate but it does not fill in the blanks of the overall discussion.

And Mars has no surface water so there is that.

Mars for one. Unless all the ancient surface water was siphoned off by aliens, it is still under the planet's crust. Yet, no precipitation. So, A Sun + Water =/= rain
Yeah, it didn't recede into the crust, when the core of mars cooled it lost most of its atmosphere, the water evaporated due to low pressure and made its way to space with the rest of the atmosphere. It wasn't siphoned off by aliens, it was siphoned off by the solar wind.

I read the books. I'm a big fan of the series, but the first book was written back in 1913.
Yeah I know. Edgar Rice Burroughs. Creator of Tarzan and others. I read virtually all his stuff. The comment was a actually an attempt at humor.
