Detroit is the one matchup I was most concerned about. They can both stop the run and throw deep, counters to our strength and biggest weakness.

AT&T stadium offers up perfect passing conditions for Megatron to showcase his talents on the national stage.

So this comes down to heart. Dez, Romo, and the defense have to step up and play like they want to win. I know Murray will bring everything he has, but it won't be enough, at least not for the first 3 quarters or so.
I'd take a match up of Det 10 times out of 10 over GB.

Gordon won't last to our pick, and we're getting Adrian Peterson anyway.

Yea, playing Rodgers in a dome is basically the worst possible scenario, even if he's not 100%. I'd much rather play him in Green Bay where the field will be frigid.

Absolutely. But Dallas's offense would blow Green Bay's defense off the ball in any stadium putting all the pressure back on Rodgers to score in a shorter amount of time.

Detroit instead puts all the pressure on Romo because they will stuff Murray and force third and medium to long.

Meanwhile Matthew Stafford will have no pressure on him from any perspective. His defense will keep him in the game, and against the Dallas defense he'll be able to call a balance of runs, short passes to Bush, or deep throws. That balance will keep Marinelli from scheming pressure when he really drops back to throw. That means Tate and Megatron will get clean chances early and often.

This game all comes down to Romo (or a Stafford brain fart), moreso than it would vs. Green Bay.

That tweet didn't say it, but Romo was also selected to the second team.

NFL-wide? Major props. Romo second is amazing considering the competition.

I just really have a hard time taking a RB in the first round. Not sure Gordon even lasts until our pick in the first but if he does I'd still have a hard time taking him. It's just soo easy to find a really good RB in the second or third round who will look great running behind this offensive line. Plus a RB's curve in the NFL is generally short lived. I don't like taking guys in the first round who I view as basically a 5 year player for our team.
That's basically where I'm at. Usually plenty of good RB's in the 2nd-3rd round. The only way I'd do it round one is late in the first and only if the RB is clearly BPA.

I think Martin is the first rookie guard ever to make 1st team All Pro.

Is it good if you draft a guy who is 1st team All-Pro as a rookie?

Hopefully the fact that Martin is such a huge success and Manziel seemingly a huge bust makes Jerry more risk averse and willing to listen to Stephen and Garrett when they want to go the more conservative route in drafts.

or he gets butt hurt, and doesn't like having to "walk on egg shells"

That's the ideal scenario. And it's worked pretty damn well for Baltimore and Pittsburgh, which are known for having great drafts year after year.

I know we struggle in the pass rush department, but Det does not have a great line at all. Again, no brainer to want Det over GB. Green Bay and Lacy just ran effectively against them, so I like our chances.

And their Oline will be without Warford this week, so their middle of the road line just got worse.

That is a bonus for sure. I am rooting for our defense. They have shown a lot of heart and a victory over Megatron who has repeatedly abused Dallas would be a major confidence boost.

If we can get in Stafford's face I think we will do well on defense. Crawford being sick is bothersome, though. Maybe T. McClain keeps playing well.
