True...TCU will be right there though.I think that spot is reserved for Ohio State, tbh. TCU will be in the top 5, but they won't be #1.

Does it matter if Auburn was #1 last year or #2? Or do you think they didn't even belong in the championship vs. FSU?How about the number 1 ranked team for the past 2 years has been defeated. How did they get to be number 1? Media bias and voter bias.
Sims at QB was a weakness...and it really stood out to me that the defense did not have that game changer that they usually have.Absolutely it's not. Their defense isn't close to what it was and their once dominant run game is inconsistent. Probably because they don't have 4 NFL starters on their OL anymore.
They obviously weren't good that year either, it was just teh media bias. This Alabama team is nowhere near the one that has won the last few National Titles, like the one that whipped up on ND.
I didn't say it was a stigma. I pointed out that Bama was beat by a third stringer. .You are kidding, right? Before it was a stigma that he was the 3rd QB, now it shows their depth.
But, ND's defeat of LSU a few days was impressive. I know that a lot of ND fans soured on Brian Kelly this year, but he's a damn good coach and does a phenomenal job given the level of talent he has to work with relative to other big named programs. Call it a hunch, but I think OU, Texas, USC, Michigan (prior to the Harbaugh hire), Penn State, and Miami would all trade their head coach for Brian Kelly. That says quite a bit. This Alabama team is nowhere near the one that has won the last few National Titles, like the one that whipped up on ND.
So no one thinks Bama gets more attention just because they are Bama. Pay closer attention. I have heard the media mantra for years.I didn't say it was a stigma. I pointed out that Bama was beat by a third stringer. .
That o-line of Warmack, Jones, and Fluker was one of the best o-lines in the history of college football.Absolutely it's not. Their defense isn't close to what it was and their once dominant run game is inconsistent. Probably because they don't have 4 NFL starters on their OL anymore.
If you are pointing it out there is a reason for it...you are minimizing him as a player.I didn't say it was a stigma. I pointed out that Bama was beat by a third stringer. .
Just like all traditional powers. Oklahoma has routinely gotten the benefit of the doubt and hype they didn't necessarily deserve. So has FSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio St, USC, Nebraska, Michigan, Penn St, etc in the last 30 years. So no one thinks Bama gets more attention just because they are Bama. Pay closer attention. I have heard the media mantra for years.
I heard plenty of churping from Patterson about the playoffs on the local ESPN station. Just didn't make the national news like Baylor.Definitely gained respect for TCU through this process and lost respect for Baylor.
Oh look! The only good looking girls in the entire city of Eugene! The rest are hippies.
Whatever Patterson did though, it worked. Briles came off poorly IMO.I heard plenty of churping from Patterson about the playoffs on the local ESPN station. Just didn't make the national news like Baylor.
I don't think Baylor is going to drop off but they better start winning the bowl games. They are now going to have to overcome the soft schedule and the lack of big game success as far as ranking and recruiting goes.
Bama has more National Titles in the last few years than entire conferences in three times as long. If you're just now realizing the media promotes the winners, you haven't been paying attention. So no one thinks Bama gets more attention just because they are Bama. Pay closer attention. USC were media darlings too...so was Texas with McCoy and Young. Good teams get media attention. The SEC does a great job selling their product too.Bama has more National Titles in the last few years than entire conferences in three times as long. If you're just now realizing the media promotes the winners, you haven't been paying attention.
For the first time ever, I'm going to make it a point to watch some of Paul Finebaum's show.
As an aside, Twitter clued me in to this little gem from a couple of months ago.
Possible California imports?Oh look! The only good looking girls in the entire city of Eugene! The rest are hippies.
