The playoff system worked out this year. If this had been any of the last 15 years with the BCS I guarantee the championship game would've been Alabama vs. FSU while the actual top two teams, Oregon and Ohio St would've played in the Rose Bowl for the right to be #3.

I know FSU was only ranked 3rd, but I have no doubt if only the top two teams went to the championship, enough voters would've made sure the only undefeated team from one of the big five conferences was in the game.

I would like to think that the OSU victory would make the media rethink why they are such Bama whores but it probably won't because even after last year's loss the Bama altar was erected again and it started all over. A team with a third string QB took them to task and out gunned the myth. Come August the pundits will begin their hype and worship all over again. Just get ready for it.
Alabama was deserving of being in the final four...not sure what the gripe is. They'll be good again next year and rightfully ranked high. Funny that the "3rd string QB" is being used as some kind of ammo to take down Alabama...never mind that Jones was the #12 player overall in his recruiting class.

And playoff committee feels vindicated putting them in over TCU.
I'm totally on the fence about being pissed over tcu not getting in. Really, the process was relatively fair. Obviously FSU is inferior to the other teams that got in. OSU ended up being ranked correctly I suppose. They certainly showed up to play hard. I still think that tcu would give anyone the most trouble out of the four that got in.

Definitely gained respect for TCU through this process and lost respect for Baylor.

I'm not seeing where anyone is saying Alabama shouldn't have been in it. If you go back and read it is clear that people are just tired of the world worshipping at the sec alter.

As far as where a recruit was ranked...well that doesn't really matter. The other two players were ranked lower yet they are clearly better that this guy. I'm sure he is a good player but he is in fact the 3rd string QB.

I didn't say they shouldn't be in the playoffs. I will say however I think there are other teams that could take them down and its a strong statement that the playoff system should be expanded. Bama gets more support than other teams. It's a media bias and I don't see how anyone can deny it.

This SEC talk is hilarious. Just curious but do most of you think that SEC teams have won all of those national championships over the last 20 years because of media hype, or do you think the media hype came due to the SEC teams winning so much?

My take, as a fan of a team in the SEC, is that the teams that have won in the last 20 years were deserving. But it's obvious that by winning so much they automatically are now given the benefit of the doubt. I also think it's funny that from the time the playoff system was announced, there was much gnashing of teeth across the country thinking the SEC would take up to 3 of the 4 spots. But as it turned out, only 1 SEC team made the playoffs. I love that Alabama lost last night but I do think they deserved to be in the top 4.

Bunch of crying from Big 12 fans is what I see. It does matter where the recruit was ranked too, not like they were rolling out a walk on. He was a legit recruit and player, yet since he was 3rd string now it minimizes him as a player.

Media is just Bama whores and stuff. Nevermind that they are a consistently great program.

Agreed. The 3rd stringer stuff makes for a good story, but he can start at 90% of the programs.

How about the number 1 ranked team for the past 2 years has been defeated. How did they get to be number 1? Media bias and voter bias.

You are helping to make the point. OSU has more depth at number 3 QB than the number 1 rated team in the country's starter.

This Alabama team is nowhere near the one that has won the last few National Titles, like the one that whipped up on ND.

You are kidding, right? Before it was a stigma that he was the 3rd QB, now it shows their depth.

I think that spot is reserved for Ohio State, tbh. TCU will be in the top 5, but they won't be #1.

Absolutely it's not. Their defense isn't close to what it was and their once dominant run game is inconsistent. Probably because they don't have 4 NFL starters on their OL anymore.
