Couple things...

Garrett has an excuse if they fail to get in now.

This injury has to hurt his contract value...every year he has missed time...this year is no different.

Worst case: We miss playoffs and he's 100% by mini-camp.

Well, the Colts run defense is ranked just below ours and with our pass offense, I don't see them putting an extra man in the box.

Murray isn't gonna miss more than one game, so it should be ok.

Our line is good enough to create holes for both Randle and Dunbar, so I expect for us to get enough of a contribution from the running game to be successful with it. The key in this game will be the defense's ability to get stops.

They will play a lot of press with Davis and Greg Toler. Very similar to Philadelphia. With Randle in there, I would not commit an extra guy either.

Does this mean we finally bring Ryan Williams up?
Absent some obvious deal-breaker with Williams (i.e., cannot pick up a blitz), we would be smart to do so. Dunbar is no threat to start if Murray walks, but if a Randle/Williams combo show that they too can excel behind one of the best offensive lines in football, I think that's important for us to know going into the off-season.

It would be just as valuable (but more expensive) to know that they can't perform as well.

It would be a mistake to go out there with a 2013 fling it all over the field gameplan featuring a finesse running game as an afterthought.

Similar to Philly, yes. But Vontae Davis has been a shutdown CB this year. Dez won't handle him as he did Fletcher.

And you don't think Randle/Dunbar can break 100 in that scenario? It's not like they're facing the Eagles' front seven either. BTW, the result of Philadelphia playing press was Witten going off for one of his best games of the season.

I think people are picking the wrong unit to be concerned about in this game.

This seemed like a good idea at the time.

That's not a major surgery. they use 1 or 2 small titanium screws to hold the bone together until it heals, but its basically fixed when the screws go in.

The issue with him playing is they go in thru the palm side to fix it....its the sutures that are the issue, not the fracture itself.

I really like what Randle has been doing in short spurts. Of course when he is the lead back it changes the way he is defended, but if the OL does it's job I think there are quite a few backs who could have success behind it. The real key is to produce enough that the Colts have to respect the PA.

Randle has fresh legs at this point in the season and he's produced some big plays, and in no way do I want to abandon the run just because Murray is out for a game. Give Randle 25 carries and see what he does. Can't be much worse than the 2.6 YPC we got against Philly (he's averaging 7.0 YPC on the year, thanks to his one big run phenomenon).

What PA? I was begging for some in the second half last night, in any of the 4th qtr drives if they had PA on 1st down they would have had them.

If they suddenly think play action with Randle will work I question their sanity. He's going to have to establish himself for them to respect the run. Otherwise, I am planning the blitz the crap out of Romo.

And, actually, Dunbar looked strong last night against the Eagles in the opportunities he got. Stick his ass out there, give home some screen work, we'll need that shit come playoff time.
