Our D is what it is, but this game is on the offense. I know Philly does not care about TOL, but Sea held them to just 18 mins with the ball. We need to do the same thing.
Seattle also held philly to something like 150 yards. I don't believe our defense is capable of that.

I agree this game is on our offense. Game one they scored 33. Our offense is fully capable of putting up more than that against their defense.

And I think this is the one game I'd go against our formula and come out passing. Then come in with the run later.

I wouldn't worry about TOP much.

I don't think so either, but I do think holding them under 300 is legit, particularly if we are running the ball and finishing drives, putting the onus on them to throw. We need to make them one dimensional. TOP is a big deal if we score on a 7 minute drive, then stop them once on a 3 and out, then score again. Something like that flips everything.

I am curious at who the 49ers will replace Harbaugh with...if he leaves as expected. Bevell would be an interesting candidate.

Our defense is terrible and our offense predictable.

Seattle had approximately 1 trillion plays that went for 20 yards yesterday. Philly didn't know what to expect and failed to stop a very average offense as a result. Against Dallas ton Thanksgiving he formula was to double Bryant and stack the line against Murray daring Romo's back to beat you.

Dallas broke New Orleans defense early by passing to set up the run. We do that, we have a chance to win.

Defensively we must step up. Philly's misdirection/gimmick plays really hurt the Cowboys. I expect a better performance (couldn't be much worse), and an improved offense will be a big part of that.

Fortunately HFA means nothing vs. the Cowboys this year. Really bad weather might actually work in our favor, ironically.

I think the combination of our road game advantage, our extended time to prepare, and the Seahawks exposing the Eagles yesterday give us a win in Philly. I'm not sure if that'll help, though. I feel like we might choke against the Colts at home and have the most disappointing 11-5 Season of all time. (10-6 if we realize we're out of the playoffs before the last game.)

And if Seattle loses and Detroit continues to win we would be in the playoffs at 11-5. People get too caught up in worst case scenarios.

They supposedly like their DL coach Tomsula to take over.

So what makes you think the Seahawks suddenly start losing? They are one of the hotter teams right now.

The only reason Sanchez looks passable is because of the Eagles running game/OL and the screen game, shut that down and he isn't going to beat you by himself and he damn well may lose it on his own. That's why their offense looked like shit yesterday, and usually looks like shit against good defenses. If you can stop their run game and keep them in obvious passing situations Sanchez won't beat you over 4 quarters.

We did a pretty good job against McCoy last year as far as I remember so it's not impossible to do.

Yeah, to pull off the 11-5 that would kill us they'd just have to beat San Fran and St Louis at home where they almost never lose, and even if they drop one of those they have a wounded Arizona team they could pretty easily trounce again.

Because they have a brutal 3 games ahead of them. They play 2 teams in the playoff hunt and a Rams team that may be playing as well as anyone right now.

I would have thought they would promote Roman.
I think some of the shine is off of Roman now.

I just think they need a new culture there, keeping some of Harbaugh's old guys around seems like a continuation of what they currently have.

It would be convenient for Harbaugh if they let all of his guys go to Oakland with him.

Green Bay exposed Philly before we played them the first time. It didn't help us.

while our defense is more like Seattle than it is green bay, I don't think it will help us this time either.

if Harbaugh shakes loose, we should be all over him. Especially if we miss the playoffs yet again.

The difference is this time we actually have time to prepare for the game.

Can someone please start the Eagles Stuff thread? It didn't turn out so well for me last time.
