I agree with this. Even though Johnny provided a spark last week, 7-5 is still 7-5 and you gotta give Hoyer a chance to capitalize on it.
They are not going deep into the playoffs regardless...and I doubt Hoyer is back next year. Over the last 3 games Hoyer has thrown 1 TD and 6 ints. I'd say that they are winning now in spite of Hoyer, not because of him.

I wouldn't bench a guy based on 2 recent starts after playing well for the entire season. You have a chance to win games and make the playoffs. We've seen average teams get hot at the right time and make noise. Gotta take the chance you can do the same.

He has had moments, but he is not someone I would say has been playing well the entire season. 11 TDs to 10 ints does very little for me...for the entire season he is ranked 27th in QBR and is a JAG. I understand the move I guess, but he has no future with the team and I doubt he is a future starter elsewhere.

He is completing 56% of his passes and has a QB rating in the 70s on the season. Those aren't winning numbers.

He played poorly against the Jags and then the last 2 weeks. Most weeks he's at least a decent bus driver and some weeks he's been damn good. And he was doing all that with crap to throw to until Gordon's return.

I don't think you can cherry pick the good weeks any more then you can cherry pick the bad weeks. If you're going to evaluate his performance you have to count all of the games. That's why I gave his numbers over the course of the whole season as opposed to just the last couple games. I also don't think you can just discredit the last couple of weeks because they were bad games. I get that Hoyer has helped to get them to the current 7-5 record but any body that believes they are a legitimate contender with Hoyer at QB is sadly mistaken. The Browns are a not very good team that has been able to reach a 7-5 record with a really weak schedule. Not saying the Browns should give up on the season but is it worth finishing 8-8 ot 9-7 with Hoyer at QB?

I agree but I put him on a short leash. If he's struggles in the 1st half the of Colts game I bring Manziel in to play the 2nd half.

I'd offer a 4th and a conditional pick in 2016.
And you'd be flushing two picks, a roster spot, and the coaches' time.

He is not an NFL QB. Couldn't start for a Browns team that was really bad the previous year.

He's looked ok since he got on the field, but with Hoyer playing like crap lately, Manziel will probably start next year.

Wouldn't mind signing Hoyer as a backup to Romo, though. (I know, I know, another Browns QB) I'd also take McCoy or Ponder.
