Cowboys add Micah Pellerin to roster

November, 22, 2014

By Todd Archer | ESPNDallas.com

IRVING, Texas -- In order to call up cornerback Micah Pellerin from the practice squad, the Dallas Cowboys released defensive tackle Davon Coleman on Saturday.

With Tyler Patmon out of Sunday’s game against the New York Giants with a knee injury, the Cowboys needed to add Pellerin to have a fourth cornerback on the roster. He joins Orlando Scandrick, Brandon Carr and Sterling Moore. Patmon could miss up to two more games with his knee injury.

Coleman played in the first two games of the season and started the opener and had four tackles. He injured his knee/calf in the weight room and missed two games. He has been inactive for the past eight games. If he clears waivers, he could be brought back to the practice squad.

Has to be. Who else do you drop for him? Hayden? I think not. Maybe J Crawford?

I like Coleman a lot for an undrafted guy. I hope we are able to bring him back to the practice squad. I think he is a guy who could be a legit 3 technique down the road.

No, not a lock. They have been heavy on DL, so several have been inactive each week.

It bugs me a little they cut Coleman instead of Tony Hills, who is a who gives a shit OL. Might be because they had to keep him after signing him off a PS, but I am too lazy to bother looking up the rules.

Yeah, they tried their best to push this until Saturday, which makes him more likely to slip through waivers.

Coleman has shown some tools to make it worthwhile to develop him.

Still a risk though. There are other guys on this roster that I doubt someone is going to trip over their own dick in order to sign.

Hawkins or especially Hills are prime examples. Hell, what team is going to go apeshit to sign Vaughan?

Yeah especially at this time of year makes me wonder if Colemans knee never responded, its funny how he went from starter to this.
