It'll be a replay of the Oregon/Auburn BCS title game. The SEC defense will show up and limit this high powered finesse offense with their physicality and Oregon's D will be too small to stop the power running QB.
Maybe we will get to see if that is the case.

What's so unimpressive about wins @ LSU, Texas A&M and Auburn? FSU probably would have went 1-2 in that stretch.
Didn't LSU just get beat down by a shitty Arkansas team? This is the problem with the SEC. We just assume teams are awesome based on past history even if they aren't very good this year.

Bama shooting up to #1 is lame, but the 4 is probably right. Still think Baylor should be ahead of TCU.
I like TCU, but I honestly think they belong ahead of Baylor because I think they're the better team, and as the committee pointed out yesterday, their body of work is just more impressive.

I don't agree with FSU being #3. While I don't think they're a great team and will get the shit kicked out of them in the playoffs, they are the undefeated, defending NC's for crying out loud. How can you have 2 teams with 1 loss records in front of you? That status has to count for something. So if Miss ST. wins at Ole Miss, do they too get jumped ahead?

If TCU wins the Big 12, do they too get jumped ahead?

FSU should be #1, IMO, regardless of how unimpressive they've been. They are the only team on that list with no losses and they are still the champs till someone knocks them off.

Yea, and Alabama beat that shitty Arkansas team by a measly blocked XP, then turned around and barely beat a decent LSU team who as you pointed out, also had trouble with that shitty Arkansas team......but they belong as the #1 team and stuff.

I don't know, Arkansas looked like a #1 team to me.

Why is Arkansas shitty? Because they're 5-5? All 5 of their losses were to teams in the top 10 at the time and other than week 1 to Auburn, not one was a blowout loss.

They're average at best.

I am not sold on Miss St at all. Good story and I have pulled for them, but I just do not think they are a top 4 team. Ohio St is better and TCU and Baylor may be as well.

So first they were shitty, now they're average. Fine, that's a much more realistic assessment.
Either way, if it were a 5-5 Big 12, PAC 12, or any other conference team, they wouldn't be ranked #1 ahead of a an undefeated, defending NC like Alabama is.

And people want to know why fans believe there's an SEC conspiracy.

I agree 100% with this, which is why I said about a 3 weeks ago that they'd have at least 2 losses by the end of the season.

I think it will work itself out over the next few weeks.

Expanding to 8 will be a lot of fun. I hope it happens.

The interesting thing is that if this was under the old system, with just 2 teams, I don't think there is any way in hell that FSU is not in the top 2.

Florida State strikes me as a lazy team. They only do what they have to do. When pressed they are capable of turning it up but sometimes that can bite you. They are a well balanced team and can play with most folks. It will be interesting to see if they wait until the second half to wake up if they get in the playoffs.

Exactly.

I am not impressed with them and I think they get killed in the playoffs, but still.....I completely disagree with not just one, but two teams with a loss on their record being ranked ahead of an undefeated team who also happens to be a power program from a big conference.

It's even more ridiculous when you consider that they are the defending NC's.

They beat Auburn in the NC that way last year. It is not ideal by any means, but I don't remember a team in recent memory that came back from so many deficits to win. They don't strike me as lazy.

I don't know if it's laziness, but their season looks a lot like Auburn's last year. A lot of fluking plays turning in win after win. FSU get's a blocked PAT, missed 29 yard FG and a ridiculous deflected TD pass and still only beats Miami by 4. That reminds me of the crazy missed FG return TD for Auburn last year.

FSU has far superior talent to teams like Lousiville and Miami and Okie State, and that shows itself in the second half. But they shouldn't get behind to all these lousy teams in the first place. It's not like they're coming back from big deficits against top 10 or even 15 teams.

As far as the playoff teams, I have a bad feeling the committee is going to favor big name teams. If it's even close between a TCU and an Ohio State, I think they're going with the big name and big fanbase every time. The ambiguity in the voting criteria is only going to make that easier for them.

It was funny to hear them justify Alabama being number one by basically stating that they beat down Mississippi State but then turn around and justify Mississippi state as legit at 4 because they went toe to toe with Alabama. Just very inconsistent logic.

Don't worry, Big 12. Oliver Luck is on the committee, he has your back. Meanwhile the SEC has the committee chair and the Big 10 has 2 seats at the table. :lol
