Ok, but they were and had they beat Kansas by 40 than they probably still would be.

As an aside, those are just power rankings. The playoff ranking hasn't come out yet.
Right, no one was saying it was the playoff rankings. It was just interesting to me.

Good news for 1bigfan13, Stoops has already come out and stated he's happy in Oklahoma and has no interest in the FL job.

Probably good news for both programs.

What am I looking at here?
It's Gurley' s stats for he past 3 years. Look at the overall in the first line of each year. They are a little ahead of Murray's but not by much. I didn't extrapolate out he "big play" numbers but first can be gleened if you ave team time and energy.

Brian Kelly would be the obvious choice for Florida. Or Jim Harbaugh, if they could lure him back from the NFL.

Our offense is going to be built around the running game moving forward, or at least it should be, so that's why I'd put a premium on adding a talented RB as high as the 2nd even if we re-sign Murray.

If we can get a guy like Gordon or Abduallah you're set up to preserve Murray and you have his replacement on the roster for 3-4 years from now. We would also be in position to take a gamble on a talent like Gurley since we wouldn't have to count on him and could slowly integrate him.
No way in hell I'd use a second round pick on a player who will be a backup for the entirety of his rookie contract. Sounds like what we have been doing at TE for some time now. The only way I burn a second round pick on a RB in this draft is if we didn't lock Murray up long term, which I have no problem with doing. Franchising Murray and drafting a RB to start a year down the road is cool with me.

If I am A&M, I back up the brinks truck and bring in Muschamp.

Muschamp doesn't have to be a DC. He could get a low end P5 job or high end lower level HC job if he wants it. He proved himself enough as a recruiter to be offered one.

I don't view that as good news at all.

Unless Stoops decides to totally revamp his coaching staff, I want him gone. I don't want to sign up for more years of Mike Stoops at DC and Josh Heupel at OC.

I was being sarcastic. Definitely only good news for Gator fans.

I don't think we have to invest in that high of a pick at RB. I'd much rather address the defensive front 7 and S position in the first three rounds and then take a Langford, Allen, Johnson type.
this x1,000. Gurley is an exceptional talent, but if we take a RB in the second we are STUPID. If Gurley is in the 3rd, yes. If not, you have so many running backs who are going to be great with an offensive line - Langford, Johnson, Abdullah, hell even the kid from TTU DeAndre Washington is intriguing as a late round flyer. The offense will be fine even if DeMarco isn't back next season. Defense is needed and needed now. Everywhere.

There is some speculation that Gundy would be a good hire for Florida.

I would be surprised if Gundy left O State. He is a local (Midwest City, Okla.) an O State alum and in pretty tight with T. Boone Pickens. But stranger things have happened.

Midwest City Bombers vs. Del City Eagles was a hell of a rivalry back when I was in High School.

Mike's brother, Cale, was the QB in some of the match ups that I remember.

I feel like Ohio St might be the 4th best team in the country. Terrible loss vs VA Tech might kill them, but if they win out I like them more than TCU and Baylor.

You musta missed all of the conflict he's had at Okie State and the sniffing around he's done over the last few years.

If he has a chance to go to a premier program he will no doubt leave if it is the right fit.

Beating Wisconsin in their title game will give them a big boost.
