Melvin Gordon.

WTF.
My dreams of seeing him getting drafted in the 2nd round by us pretty much went to shit today.

He had already made a case for being a 1st rounder before today, but after this performance? Fuggetaboutit.

With as bad as Prescott has played, they are still in this game. That along with TCU struggling with Kansas will keep them in the top 4.
Maybe, but TCU will be right back in after Miss St. lose to Ole Miss.

Welp.

OU is not very good. I thought they were really good. They just sucked less than us.

Told you this game would be closer than you thought. Tech plays better when they are playing OU in Lubock.

:lol

Awesome shot of the Texas players lifting Charlie Strong above their heads like that.

That means that all the guys on the team love playing for him and have bought in. Can't wait to see what he does in a year or two with our program. :towel

I didn't even bother watching the game. Watching a poorly coached Sooners team take on a bad TT team didn't pique my interest.

I'm fed up with the poor coaching from top to bottom and I didn't want to sit there and watch our CBs give TT receivers 12 yards of cushion all afternoon. So I saved myself the headache and watched the other games.

Miami is killing Florida St. with those deep post and seam routes. Just destroying them.

Florida State is easily the worst team in the top 4.

They keep getting lucky every week.

Yeah, I couldn't watch it either. Very disappointing season. Not sure you can lay it all at Stoops feet though. Knight fucking sucks.

You missed a great second half performance by the running backs.

They absolutely are and Jamies has definitely taken a step back this year. Off the field stuff aside, he just makes dumb decisions a lot. He throws into coverage way too much.

I like the short running back from Texas Tech DeAndre Washington. Kind of reminds me of how Marion Barber used to run, always finishing it off in a punishing style. Tech fans, what do you think of the guy? Don't know much about him

Is it luck or resilience?
If they were falling behind to good teams, you might be able to convince me it's resilience, but they are getting off to bad starts to a bunch of average teams.

They do hat vs Oregon, Bama, TCU, etc. and it's a blowout.

I know it's not all on Stoops but the program is certainly in a rut. It would help if he actually had competent assistant coaches.

I hate to say it but the Sooners remind me of the Dallas Cowboys in that Mike Stoops and Josh Heupel are only Coordinators due to nepotism. Instead of seeking out more qualified coaches who are better for the job Bob Stoops would rather employee his brother and his former QB.

And I agree Trevor Knight sucks. I've never seen an OU QB spot the opposing team 7 points every damn week. If he's not throwing pick 6's he's throwing critical red zone INTs.

Also, Knight's tunnel vision is maddening. If I had to put a number to it I'd guess that 70% of his pass attempts go to either Sterling Shepard or slow ass Blake Bell. He rarely gives the other WRs a chance to make a play. I watched the highlights from yesterday's games and the other WRs made some nice plays, and they made plays in previous weeks when Shepard's been out. Knight just doesn't know how to read a defense and relies too heavily on Shepard.

But as inconsistent as Knight and Heupel have been I think the biggest problem is Mike Stoops and his unimaginative defense. It's nothing but CBs playing 10 yards off the WR and busted zone coverage. I know we don't have elite talent on defense but they shouldn't be as bad as they are. Players play with no confidence because they don't believe in the system. You can see it in their body language. They know things are jacked up.

It's up to Stoops to do the right thing instead of remaining loyal to friends and family. That's the only way this thing gets turned around.

Miami should have beat them last night but Miami went away from what was working for them in the 1st half.

They started playing conservatively and playing not to make mistakes instead of playing to win and it cost them.

He is a really good player. The kid runs hard and has great vision. He is probably 5'8" 195. He will make someone a great mid-late round pick.
