Wow.....you beat the team with Brandon Weeden at QB.....what an accomplishment.Patrick Peterson, Cardinals mock Cowboys, sing ‘We Dem Boyz’ in locker room after win
By Michael Florek / Staff Writer
ARLINGTON — Wiz Khalifa’s “We Dem Boyz” has become the Cowboys’ anthem this year.
It’s played multiple times at every home game at AT&T Stadium and the title and lyrics of the song has turned into a common phrase on social media praising the Cowboys. Jamie Foxx has used it. So has LeBron James. But on Sunday, the song popped up in an unfamiliar place: the opposing locker room.
Following Arizona’s 28-17 victory at AT&T Stadium, one of the Cardinals yelled the common refrain to the song: “Hol up, hol up.”
Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson finished the line, “We dem boyz!” and added “Yeah, we dem boyz!”
that's still a month-long injuryHearing that Crawford has a MCL sprain
Maybe.that's still a month-long injury
They won't start Vaughn and that leaves Sweeden. Do you feel comfortable with that because Dallas cannot afford to lose 3 straight games. It would be a demoralized.I'd hope we can still hold Romo out vs jax.
I'd say it's pretty clear those numbers don't tell the whole story. You have to call the game differently when the backup QB is in, usually. Particularly when the backup is as bad as Weeden. So yeah, we didn't lean on Murray enough.
Weeden threw about 33 times, Murray carried 19. I'd say it's pretty clear that's not a recipe for success.
Well, you can't make Weeden a good QB, so it's logical to take it out of his hands.Yeah... so the bigger problem was the lack of efficiency in the passing game.
you're assuming that 50/50 run/pass ratio is correct.I'd say it's pretty clear those numbers don't tell the whole story.
Guess they got bored with the grey.what's up with these white pants?
That may be, but it doesn't change the fact that the biggest problem is/was his inability to get the defense to back off.Well, you can't make Weeden a good QB, so it's logical to take it out of his hands.
I'm assuming with a ton of history on my side that once teams start selling out to stop the run, it's gonna get harder until you make them pay in the air. We ran well against Washington and decently against the Cardinals, and got very little to show for it. Maybe we could have scratched out a win against the Skins by running ten more times, but we should be blowing the doors off that team with this offense. The running game should be complimenting a deadly efficient passing attack that, even if it doesn't have 35 attempts a game, is killing teams when it does throw.you're assuming that 50/50 run/pass ratio is correct.
Yeah, Weeden sucking out loud was the biggest problem. What do you want, an alibi? Coaches are responsible for the faith the team places in the backup QB as well as how they gameplan around the backup's weaknesses. If Romo's injuries continue and we ride Weeden to 8-8, the coaches deserve to be unemployed every bit as much as Weeden does. That may be, but it doesn't change the fact that the biggest problem is/was his inability to get the defense to back off.
And the previous week, the biggest problem was Romo's ability to make the defense back off as well by beating the blitz.
Teams are gonna continue to stack the box and/or blitz and make it tough on Murray until we do so.
We came into this season as a team that other teams focused on stopping the pass. We made too many teams pay by being run first -- that has now reversed.
We now have to make teams pay through the air or it will be diminishing returns. Murray was facing 8 and 9 man fronts. His long run was 17 yards. Yeah, he carved out a respectable 4 yards per carry, but it's tough to go down the field four yards at a time. That means you are facing an awful lot of third downs in any given TD drive. He just was not eating up the Cardinals like he had other teams, and it was in no small part due to them selling out to stop him.
Given this, I don't see how you can say the biggest problem on offense right now is anything BUT the concern about being able to make teams pay through the air. Maybe that sounds too much like "Air Garrett" for some people to be comfortable with, but we are going NO WHERE this year if we continue to face 8 man fronts and just attempt to win by plowing Murray headfirst into them over and over.
That's a recipe for losing. Gotta come up with something creative to beat teams through the air now, because the last 2 weeks we've failed at that miserably.
"on my side". what is that supposed to mean?I'm assuming with a ton of history on my side that once teams start selling out to stop the run, it's gonna get harder until you make them pay in the air.
Since our inability to do that 2 weeks in a row has directly caused our losses, that's currently our biggest problem.
It might not be a problem we can fix until Romo is back, and our best chance of eeking out wins in the meantime may be to simply run 40 times a game since our backup QB can't pass at all (that's a different discussion) but that simply proves the point that the biggest problem is passing inefficiency.
But given the fact that Romo also looked like dogshit against the Redskins, I'm concerned about it even when he does return. We need some more wrinkles in the passing game or something. The pre-Romo injury effort against the Skins is not going to cut it no matter how well you run. You have to pass in this league to win and Romo couldn't muster anything against Washington.
