Chris Davis now is hard to take. Chris Davis when they had him was easy to see why they let him go. Wash always thought they rushed him to the majors too soon. I like the guy and glad he discovered himself but the Rangers had to do something with him. He had 3 shots with the team and maybe this experience will help the Rangers in not rushing the talent up before they are ready.

Hated losing Lee but if we signed him I don't think they are able to sign Yu. I do wish they would have been able to sign Napoli.

As far as Upton I got nothing....
I loved Napoli too, but he wasn't going to be able to catch as much, and they think really highly of Moreland. So there really wasn't a place for him at the 3 year deal he wanted. Plus he didn't have nearly the year he had before even the the homers were still up. It would have been hard to justify I think. I'm glad Nap got the contract with Boston though. I'll root for him as long as it's not against us. Pierzinski has turned into a great pickup so far and in the end much better for our needs.

Yu didn't have command of his fastball yesterday and still struck out 14. I think his K/9 is around 13 or 14 now. :towel

Right now, he reminds me a lot of Randy Johnson.

Big guy, strong arm, and strikeouts in abundance.

Perez is almost ready. Maybe one more start at most. Tepesch hasnt pitched above AA so yep he needs more time.

Yeah, sorry, I meant Martin. Feliz is an August return.

I heard earlier that he's going to be released from the hospital today. Sounds like no real serious damage. Lucky. It didn't look good. MLB Network was showing that game and I had it on last night as I was hanging around the house so I happened to see that whole thing go down. Scary, but I think he's expected to be fine. Not like Brandon McCarthy who had to have emergency brain surgery or Juan Nicasio who had his neck broken by a line drive.

It looks like it hit him right by the temple. That ball could have easily killed him.

Scary shit.

The report was head contusion and a laceration to his ear. You're right though...could have been lights out, permanently.

It's actually amazing stuff like this doesn't happen more often. That pitcher is pretty damn vulnerable.

MLB has been testing different products to help make it a little safer for pitchers but so far they haven't approved/settled on anything so the process is ongoing.
