As an aside, I don't think Escobar played a single snap.
I don't remember seeing him either and was wondering about it during the game. It makes no sense after the game he had last week. Then again, I've used the phrase "It makes no snese" so often over the years regarding this team, I shouldn't be surprised.

Even without Murray's 51-yard run, Murray averaged 5.0 yards/carry exactly.

19 rushes for 141 yards becomes 18 rushes for 90 yards.
You are forgetting his fumble. It's happening too often.

25-30. Worst stat line of the week. Tells you were we really are on D.

But we are 6-2.

Our D is shit. That's the bottom line. If anyone whats to debate it tomorrow and I remember, lets go. ( i Probably wont remember though) Colt Mc 25-30; 4 drives of over 5 mins Cowboys had the ball for 9 mins in 2nd half.

I was hoping for 7-3 weeks ago; now I am hoping for 8-2. Is that bad?

Agreed.

Offense wasn't good but I'm not sure letting Colt McCoy go 25-30 was better. And the missed tackles, my god. Maybe tap the breaks on handing McClain a megadeal.

Not sure why we went away from the run, would have liked to see it more, but don't think it's as "jump off the ledge" worthy as some do.

I'm equally concerned about the inability to do anything with playaction. Maybe the stats will say otherwise but I feel like we haven't been able to do as much with playaction as I'd like all season. We clearly wanted to, and it failed over and over. I think at times running playaction on the short yardage downs is smart, we did not capitalize all night.

Not sure you will be able to go 14-2 running the ball 35 times a game all season, the league is too smart for that. Gonna have to get these WRs going a little more than they were tonite, at least. Lots of passes, but not enough downfield success -- that was also a problem besides questionable decisions not to run.

So Durant is done, just as he started looking like a player. Oh well. Come back soon Bruce, or as he is known on twitter these days #54.

So Murray was rushing well 5.0 yards per carry without the big 51 yarder.

I'm implying we should run more.

Your comment is implying we should run less because of Murray's fumble-itis.

After listening to the The Ticket, I've put down the pitchforks about not running enough. Our 2nd down passing was more effective than I thought, but I still think we should've run more.

What fucked us is Washington's TOP to limit our drives, the two fumbles to end 2 of our limited drives and not getting the TD.

Honestly, pdom, I really hate this; someone was running a certain yards per carry stat. I am not sure it means much. What matters more is situational football and there is an ebb and flow to every game. Stop fumbling almost every game. This game went to OT, what yard line was Murray's fumble? That's what matters to me, at least for this week.

No fumbles we win by double digits. Instead we lost. It is a week to week business.

We would have had more TOP had we run more. I don't think that the Redskins could have stopped 3 consecutive runs from gaining a first down at any point in the game tonight. We gave them the game by going finesse and playing soft football.

I'm glad we lost with that Garrett style game plan, hopefully Linehan won't try that stupid pass happy shit again this year.

yards per carry is absolutely important. This isn't rushing for 15 yards on 3rd and 20 to skew the statistics. Murray was getting real yards.

Taking away the 51-yard run to show 5.0 ypc is to demonstrate that Murray's yardage wasn't a boom/bust statistic. Count Murray's 51-yarder and it's a 7.42 ypc.

You're implying that we should rush Murray less because of the fumble problem. Well, it's a better poison than the alternative which was our disaster of a passing game against the blitz.

He was consistently getting rushes of more than five yards on first down, then we would go to the shotgun for the next 2 plays, insane. I can see following up a good run with play action, but just saying "we're not going to run, please blitz the shit out of Romo" is insane.

No, I am not saying that. You are looking at stats in a vacuum. Yes, lets's rush for 5 yards and then 5 yards. That would be nice.

The Redskins weren't stopping him. If we had ridden Murray like in previous games we'd have dominated TOP again and won the game easily.

Now I'm with you that you can't look at stats at face-value, but Murray's rushing today is about as consistent as you can get. Only two rushes over 10 yards (51, 12) and only one rush for negative yardage.

By saying that I'm "looking at stats in a vacuum", are you claiming that Murray's rushing production today was ineffective, cleverly disguised as an effective 7.42 ypc?

6-2. And failed to gain a game on the Eagles after playing a bad football team.
