Ran the ball on 2nd down and got called for a holding penalty that was declined but stopped the clock. Then threw a WR screen on 3rd down that Julio Jones dropped. Lions then marched down the field and missed a 43 yard FG, but got called for delay of game. Prater hit a 48 yarder to win it on the next play.
They won the game on a penalty... to themselves? :lol:lol

Cutler is the type of QB that ruins a franchise. His numbers at the end of the year look borderline elite. Ultimately you will never win anything with him at QB though and you really should move on. It's a situation where he is too good to move on from but too bad to win anything with.
I like that Urlacher called him out this week.

Yep :lol. Game was a comedy of errors. Thanks to two Lions penalties on the same lineman, the Lions got backed up to 2nd and 35 at one point. Falcons gave up 10 yards to make it 3rd and 25, then gave up a bomb TD to Golden Tate to cut the lead to 11.

Yep.....like the idiots they are they chose to throw instead of burning clock.
It was retardation. If they sit on the football, they win. Instead they run like idiots same way we did vs. Seattle and get a holding call. 1:50 on the clock and they call a quick inside screen to Julio Jones-- a two yard pass on the money-- and dropped.

Detroit gets the ball with no timeouts 1:36 and down 2.

TBF to the Falcons, I don't think it was the wrong decision to pass on 3rd down nor do I think it would have mattered had they run it there.

The Lions still would have had just over a minute to move the ball into FG range which they would have done anyway. I mean, they got down there with ease.

The problem was the huge penalty on 2nd down which stopped the clock. It was the same thing that we did vs Seattle and to the Lions back in 2012, which brings up a good point made by Troy.

If you're not really playing for extra points and are simply looking to put the opposition in a near impossible situation, then why not just QB kneel over and over to ensure you don't get called for holding? Had the Falcons done that, then they pin the Lions deep with 35 seconds and no timeouts and it takes a miracle for them to get down the field then.

It feels so good to be able to laugh at another team's ineptness for a change. :unsure

Patriots had 3 cracks at it from inside the 2 and couldn't punch it in. 4th down coming up at the start of the 2nd Qtr.

I bet Belichick goes for it. Especially since the Bears offense is struggling.

Denard Robinson is developing into a nice little weapon for the Jags.

My brother and I were screaming for this against Seattle. Anything can happen, fumble, penalty, injury... just kneel and burn the fricking clock out.

Yup.

Like I said, unless you absolutely have to move the ball in order to get points or a mandatory 1st down, then might as well just kneel the ball if all you're really trying to do is burn clock.
