I would be looking at either 1-tech or 3-tech early in the draft. But your pass rusher is usually the 3-tech and that's usually the guy you get high in a draft. Plus... maybe Brent comes back.
I wouldn't take a 1-T early.

Right now? Yes.

But Donald was a prospect we all thought was going to be that Warren Sapp type in a Marinelli defense.

So when that player is there again next year, I'm targeting him. That's a "need" every bit as much as safety, or whatever.

What I like is when a poster gets high and mighty for a player he has probably never seen play a down of football. Otherwise, carry on.

If we're talking about drafting studs, I'd prefer a QB

Me either. That's a position that you can throw 7ths and UDFAs at and still get a scrappy dude to handle the role.
Check back here at post #100

Steaks, Plates, more of the latter than the former.

The Rams forgot that defense extends beyond just the front four. Donald was just too many eggs in the same basket.
I think they had the right idea. Donald with a healthy Long and Quinn etc. was fine.

I would have built the DL the same way.

Their LBers have been ignored for a long time and safety is a real issue. Plus their CB depth is not good.

Maybe they have a "process" and a "three year plan" as well.

Or maybe Jeff Fisher isn't a top level head coach and not able to get teams over the hump just because he took one team to the Super Bowl in like 15 years.

So if the Cowboys had a top level coach, we wouldn't need to draft DLs in the first round?

Off the top of my head, Fisher only had like what, three or four winning seasons out of I think 11 years in Tennessee? His St. Louis teams seem to play hard, but that's about all I can say for them.

:lol, maybe, because that's the only explanation for it.

Drafting BPA is to be commended but doing so without thought regarding your team's existing composition is wrong.

Ironically the team has one measly sack through 6 games. Unreal. Guess teams know where the pressure is going to come from and prepare accordingly.

I think Aaron Donald may not be as good as we all thought. Physically he isn't the biggest guy and it's possible that he is a great college talent who doesn't translate tht well to the NFL.

Maybe, but he has the one sack that the Rams D has.

I also don't think he is a good fit in Gregggggggg Williams' D.

No kidding, people bitch about the lack of sacks Dallas is not racking up. Look at the Rams with all their first rounders. They are on pace for like 4 total sacks on the year.
