I've always thought that black people would be the most accepting of gays because they know how it is to be hated and treated differently for something you can't help.

But nope. Turns out, a lot of them are judgmental assholes too.

:unsure
You're right. I think the problem is we're so far removed from slavery and the civil rights era that it doesn't register to them that they're being somewhat hypocritical.

On the radio this morning they were going through statements play by play announcers can't say anymore when Collins is playing.

He's palming the ball.

Swish, in his face.

Collins is taking it to the hole.

He attacks the rim really well.

Collins is riding the pine.

As much as I support this, and I do think it takes a lot of courage (though not as much at the end of your career), they are comparing this to Jackie Robinson on MDR morning show.

Please.

Yeah, that's taking it a tad bit too far.

Doc Rivers made that comparison yesterday which was replayed on Sportcenter. I think Tim Leggler is right. It takes guts to do what he did, but the "real test" will be when an active NBA player does this and has to step into a locker room the next day. Doing this when you're a 3rd string center FA in your 30's might mean you never have to play again. Plus, doing this during the playoffs means even if he does play again, it's months before he has to be in a lockerroom. Teams will have most likely gotten over it by then.

"Put it in my ass"

That's a basketball phrase, right?

Uh oh, Knickerbockers. Now we get a home game and if that goes well, anything can happen in a game 7.

Dont choke.

I can't believe OKC is crumbling like this, at this point I can't see any way that they beat Memphis in the next round. I'm very disappointed in Durant, I thought he was good enough to get them to the WCF on his own but they damn near might not even get out of this round.

I thought both the Celtics and Rockets were going down last night, but now they've made things interesting.....especially Boston.

I still expect the Rockets to lose game 6, but I can definitely see Boston winning their game 6 because they aren't as outmatched as Houston is with Boston.

Also, the Clippers are done. Memphis will finish them off by winning their 4th game in a row.

It is funny that quite a few people thought that OKC might be better off with a different PG than Westbrook. He shoots too much and all that stuff, but they sure do miss him. They really miss him because Brooks does not see to be able to craft any set plays and just relies on his guys to break people down one on one. If he had some semblance of an offense the loss of Westbrook would not be felt as much.

Agreed, if I'm Phil Jackson/OKC I'm looking at each other as where I want to go.

It's kind of a chicken or the egg type of thing but I never thought they could really beat Miami because they play too much 1 on 1 and Westbrook gets out of control sometimes, so who is more at fault there, Westbrook or Brooks/the scheme?

I'm sure both to some extent but I'd be looking at Phil to push them over the top.

They win with Westbrook being out of control though...at least to the Finals...without him there is no way they beat the Spurs or Grizzlies. They might not get past Houston.

No Hinrich or Deng tonight?

How the hell are the Bulls supposed to win tonight?

I said the same thing about a week ago when "Phil wants to return" rumors were floating around.

OKC would be a good fit for Phil Jackson. Two superstars. A talented team that just can't get over the hump. It's the exact situation that he inherited when he took over in Chicago and LA.

I've never been high on Brooks. As Carp said, he's over-reliant on his superstars creating offense with their athletic ability. His coaching decisions and X's and O's leave a lot to be desired.
