DeMarco Murray joined Hall of Famer Jim Brown as the only players to rush for at least 100 yards in six consecutive games to open a season, leading the Dallas Cowboys to a 30-23 upset victory over the Seahawks in Seattle on Sunday. Our takeaways:

1. The Cowboys' blueprint all season has been the same one the Chargers used to knock off the Seahawks in Week 2: Playing keep away, controlling the clock and winning with physicality. The investment in Dallas' offensive line continues to pay off in a big way, with an unstoppable Murray on pace for 2,100 rushing yards. The flip side is that Murray is also on an untenable pace for 425 carries. The coaching staff will have to find a way to keep winning with the same formula while lessening Murray's burden.

2. Russell Wilson lost for just the second time in Seattle, playing one of the worst games of his three-year career. Overly conservative from the pocket, his 47.8 passer rating was his third lowest in 42 games. He didn't get much help from an offensive line with a penchant for imploding drives via third-down penalties and a wide receiving corps that couldn't make plays at the point of the catch. The Cowboys nearly doubled the Seahawks in time of possession and total yards.

3. Fans of absurdist cornerback debates will note that the Seahawks finally allowed Richard Sherman to "travel," shadowing Dez Bryant throughout the second half. Bryant managed just one catch in that span -- but it was a big one. Bryant and Terrance Williams both had highlight-reel catches on key third downs while Murray rushed for 46 yards in the defining game-winning drive. Bryant and Sherman formed a mutual admiration society, exchanging fist bumps and hand shakes near the end of the game.

4. The game turned on Byron Maxwell's dropped pick six, which would have given Seattle a 17-0 lead. Maxwell went down with what Pete Carroll believes is a high ankle sprain; linebacker Bobby Wagner missed time with a foot injury; and the Cowboys capitalized, taking control of the line of scrimmage.

5. For the second time this season, the Seahawks made the head-scratching decision to turn to journeyman wide receiver Bryan Walters with the game on the line. He was featured on two incompletions and a failed run in a five-play span that sank a fourth-quarter possession. Meanwhile, offseason hype bunny Christine Michael and speedy rookie Paul Richardson were healthy scratches.

6. It's early yet, but it's conceivable that the Cowboys could end up with the Most Valuable Player (Murray), the Coach of the Year (Jason Garrett), the Comeback Player of the Year (Rolando McClain) and the Executive of the Year (Jerry Jones).

Wilson was conservative because we were blanketing their WRs and TEs. Carr was outstanding.

Also, the Seahawks abandoned the run in a game where the score was always close and they had the lead several times.

Lynch had 10 carries for 61 yards. He was held to 3.2 YPC other than the one 32 yard run, but several times I was like "Why are they going to the shotgun on first or second down?"

It's cause their offensive coordinator sucks and is the worst in the league and can't do anything right.

Is this the same OC that helped them win a championship last year?
He's being facetious because that's what people have being saying about his BFF Garrett.

Dude.....let it fucking go already.

My goodness.

The Cowboys are playing excellent football right now and this is what you have to say? No matter how much you try, you cannot erase Garrett's fuck ups of the past and all of the criticisms he has received have been warranted.

He's doing a good job this year, but he's also not calling plays either.

Let it go and enjoy the ride like everyone else is.

Yep. This is all Linehan's doing. Garrett might, just might be a better HC than OC. I'm hoping for the best but we still to continue on the way we are right now.

Exactly.

I give Garrett about 25% credit for this run...the other 75% goes to Marinelli and Linehan.

Garrett gets credit for taking a step back and letting Linehan run the offense, and then of course he was involved with the move to make Marinelli the DC. I do think the vast majority of the on-field improvements are due to the coordinators but Garrett is the HC and seems to be pressing the right buttons.

Plus, most great coaches are at the mercy of their coordinators to begin with. How much credit goes to Jim Johnson in terms of how good the Eagles were in the early 2000's?

How about Dick LeBeau, how much credit goes to him when the Steelers never went away from a 3-4 despite Tomlin coming from a Tampa 2 background?

Buddy Ryan vs. Ditka in Chicago?

I think it's very possible that Garrett just isn't meant to be a play-caller (due to inexperience and various other factors) and should just be left to dealing with macro-level issues, but I'm not going to bash him because our coordinators are doing a great job.

Jerry Jones executive of the year? LMAO

Guess this guy didn't hear about how everyone in the draft room had to practically bind and gag the asshole to keep him from drafting Mr. Football instead of Martin.

Give it to his son if anyone.

I would say Garrett's best qualities are in dealing with the players. I feel like the fact that we can mount enormous come backs and have success on the road over the last 3 years has been a dividend of his player management and an improvement over Wade's softer team culture.

He gets credit for the Oline drafting, too.

Yea, in part, although if it was up to him we are probably starting Phil Costa or some other schlub center while Tyler Eifert plays the Gavin Escobar role.
